Work At Home-Call Center and Customer Service Jobs
84
Companies all across the world depend on their customer service departments to ensure all clients are taken care of quickly and efficiently. Alot of these companies outsource this task to call centers whose main purpose is to handle calls both incoming and outgoing (cold calling).
Some of these call centers hire people to work from their homes rather than having them sitting in cubicles all day. It saves money for them, and provides a much needed opportunity for people who are unable to go out to work for whatever reasons.

- USB HEADSET- In most cases you will be required to have a headset to keep your hands free for typing information.
- Quiet Workspace- Although some employers are quite flexible, some will demand that you have a quiet place to work.
- Phone Line-Check the requirements of the company you are applying to see if you need a separate phone line just for working.

Call center agents are hired to do many different types of telephone work. Some of these include
- survey interview
- account management

Skills You Should Have
- PLEASANT PHONE VOICE- Whether you are trying to sell something or trying to resolve a customers issues, you have to make the person on the other end of the phone feel comfortable.
- ETTIQUETTE-You will be dealing with all kinds of customers who may be happy, sad, or furious. You should feel comfortable in handling any and all situations that arise.
- TYPING/LISTENING SKILLS- You should be able to type and carry on a conversation at the same time.

Thank you, I appreciate your help.
Night Writer... Great article! As you may be aware, retirement today doesn't mean what it did even 10 years ago. Lots of "retired" folks are needing to get back into the work force. Customer Service on a work-from-home basis can possibly be a good work choice for many of these people. Thanks again!
I believe SCI Live is out of business. I've had emails to return and the contact number is not in service.
Domain hosting company's hire custormer service reps. One of my relatives suffered a spinal cord injury that supposedly limits his employment options. Up all night anyway because of pain, he now fills the night time hours with a very good job.
Sounds ok, except beware: if you calll people at home who are on the Do Not Call list, you could be fined $10,000. It's happened here in my town, more than once. THis is nothing to sneeze at! B2B os OK, but for calling homes, beware and make sure to follow you local laws regarding Do Not Call numbers.
This is a great list! You always hear about these type of jobs, but never get specifics on the companies that are using home-based employees. Thanks!
Thanks for this hub. Great info. :)
Nice Information you have put here. A Thumbsup to you.
I actually work from home as a telephone support technician for a software company. They are located in Pennsylvania and I live in Ohio. I absolutely love working from home. Just remember that you should never have to pay for a job
I am happy to say that I work from home as well. What a wonderful opportunity for a small town gal, or guy, to make great money, have great benefits, work for an AWESOME company and, look out the office window and enjoy her Blue Spruce Trees.
I am so grateful for my Job Opportunity!
Have a Dynamic Day!
