Work At Home: What Might Hold You Back
66Work at Home; Not Working at Home.
Work At Home In Your Own Business
Work at Home: What Might Hold You Back, it's on the minds of about seventy thousand people each day. Yes,the desire to work at home draws that many people to the Internet each and every day. These people are looking for ways to start up a business where they can stay at home and work at home.
The vast majority of those people are going to talk themselves right out of a job before they get started. They begin to get nervous and start to worry about little things.
A goodly number of these people have little or no experience with a computer and even less experience with the Internet.
Older persons, baby boomers or older, started their working or business careers not knowing what a computer was. The Personal computer had not been invented yet.
Today there is no excuse for NOT getting excited about work at home, in your own business, on your own personal computer. The PC has been around long enough now so that every preschooler and teenager is totally familiar with it. Every family has one or more teenagers that would love to help you.
Work at home: What might hold you back.
For your information, here are seven areas that hold many people back from starting their own internet marketing business. We will isolate each area and give you the pros and cons.
First of all we will be talking about seniors and baby boomers so we want you to view a video presented by President Bill Clinton about the future of internet network marketing. We want you to pay particular attention to what he says about seniors over the age of sixty five.
Another thing I want you to know. When I started in this business I was a totally computer illiterate seventy five year. My next birthday [soon] I will be seventy eight and I have overcome every single area we will discuss in this article and more.
# 1 Fear of the unknown!
Fear of the unknown scares a lot of people away from the computer, but should it? Almost everyone today drives a car. When learning to drive there was a fear of the unknown, yet that doesn't seem to deter many people. They put their fears behind them and just keep on moving ahead.
There is both fear and excitement involved. The excitement over being able to drive overrides the fear of the unknown. It should be the same with your work at home business.
If you have grand children they probably grew up with computers in school. If you need help ask them. Their response, Oh grandpa that's easy let me show you. I did it and you can too.
# 2 The computer is so complicated I am afraid I will ruin it!
I have that said so many times and not just by seniors, by younger ones also.
Yes your computer is complicated, but the only way you can break it is by beating it with a sledge hammer or dropping it out of a second story window.
Your computer is designed to accomplish hundreds of different complicated tasks. It is designed so that if you make a mistake you can erase the mistake and start all over again. You will not ruin your computer, so you can put that worry behind you.
When I first started I would have so many things going on at the same time my computer would just stop running. Before I called the repair man I called my daughter in-law. " Just pull the plug Pop, wait a few seconds and plug it back in". I did that and when I restarted my computer everything was just fine.
# 3 I don't know a thing about the Internet!
No one knows anything about the internet in the beginning. They just start banging away at the keyboard and learn by trial and error. Some people ask questions and make better progress. Others search for a mentor to help them learn and make giant leaps forward.
There is a place on the Internet where you can go and literally look over the shoulder of an instructor as he leads you click by click doing everything you need to get your business up and running. Everything you will ever need to build your business can be found in one place.
I did it and I am well pleased with the progress I've made.
For an example, a blog is something a work at home business should not be without. You can get click by click instruction on how to build one, and when you are done you will have a working blog that you put together yourself.
When you learn your way around the internet with instruction like that it is not quickly forgotten. You have a solid piece of your business structure in place and running smoothly and you did it yourself.
# 4 Instruction manuals are hard to follow, incomplete and sometimes misleading.
Instruction manuals tell you how, but they don't tell you the why and the when to do things. Many beginners find it very difficult to follow and understand manuals. Currently there is only one place in the world that newcomers can find the kind of instruction they can really benefit from. Find that place here.
There are thousands of video tutorials available. The problem is, many use terminology beginners are not familiar with and that becomes confusing. They also move along so fast they are difficult to follow even for an old professional.
The kind of instruction we are talking about here is one that you can stop any time you want and when you are caught up, restart it and continue. If the need be, you can rewind and start all over again. You can fast forward to where you left off and continue your building work. You can't do that in a college classroom.
# 5 Advertising must be very expensive!
Advertising on the internet is free of charge unless you choose to do differently. The only investment you need to make is your own personal time and commitment. You can get your work at home business up and running on a very tiny budget.
# 6 When will I start earning an income?
It depends on the individual. Some persons learn faster than others. Other people want to concentrate on learning the fundamentals before beginning to try to make a profit. Still others only see the dollar signs.
On the Internet you will see adds claiming you can earn thousands in a few days. These are usually a flash in a pan. They may work for a short time but because there is no foundation for a real business development they soon peter out.
When a skyscraper is being built one third of the work is invisible because it's buried in the ground, it's called the foundation. Now I am sure you want your business to be like that very visible skyscraper. Work on building a strong foundation and you will be rewarded.
It's not going to happen overnight. Most claim to be making a modest profit within about three months. For me it took a little longer, mostly because I spent a great amount of time learning how to write article like this one.
# 7 I am afraid of being a failure!
Most people are afraid of failure, so the mindset seems to be, if I don't take the plunge in the first place I won't be a looser
Business people do not want to be failures. The successful ones don't think about failing, they concentrate on being successful. They work hard and never give up no matter what the circumstances are. Failure is not in their vocabulary.
Building a strong foundation for their business to grow on is one of their major concerns
For a fact, if you start off with a negative attitude you will fail. Think positively and your glass will never be half empty, it will always be half full.
