Series Matchup

We're down to the 2 teams who will compete in the World Series for 2007. It's now mid-October and the records of both teams are impressive - though the Colorado Rockies have won each of the playoff series in sweeps.

Let's look at this a little logically though: they've won 21 of their last 22 games. Isn't it time for them to fall down a little bit? The Red Sox became the first team to clinch a playoff spot for the 2007 season on September 22 with a come from behind defeat of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Boston became the 2007 AL East Champions on September 28 after a win against the Minnesota Twins and the loss of the New York Yankees against the Baltimore Orioles. This was their first AL East Championship since 1995.

The Red Sox swept the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the ALDS and defeated the Cleveland Indians in a seven game ALCS for the twelfth pennant in club history, rallying from a 3-1 deficit and outscoring the Indians 30-5 over the final three games. They will play the Colorado Rockies in the World Series.

Following multiple losing seasons, the Rockies won the National League pennant for the first time in franchise history in 2007, and will represent the National League in the 2007 World Series against the Boston Red Sox.

The club moved to 21-1 over all games played after September 15. The Rockies are currently awaiting the start of this year's World Series against the Boston Red Sox. The Colorado Rockies chose to sell World Series tickets only over the Internet. When ticket sales started on October 22, 2007, ticket hoarders used computers programmed to attack the league's ticket sales system, according to Major League Baseball. The Rockies suspended sales after only selling 500 tickets. Sales resumed the next day. 54,000 tickets to the three possible home games at Coors Field sold out in two and a half hours.

Congratulations!

HOORAY for the Boston Red Sox! It was believed by many that they couldn't do this again. Those of us who are die hard fans WE KNEW YOU COULD DO IT! Go SOX!!!
