Football Is One of the most highest paid professions on the planet and If its two things that men (and some very cool women) like its Cars and Football.

Ever since I was a kid i dreamed one day of becoming a high flyer in the football world ,and earning the nice big hefty wages these chaps are earning, but I realised I wasnt actually any good at it, and my dream came crashing down before my eyes. So Instead I thought I would just let everyone else know what I (and many other dreamers) were missing.

I have compiled together a list of the most recent top paid footballers on the face of the planet. So for all you football fanatics, ENJOY!

The 10th wealthiest footballer on my list is Ivorian Striker Didier Drogba. Drogba has had an impressive career so far and has been signed for by one of the leading premiership clubs CHEALSEA FC. He earns a whopping £120,000 each week! (the credit crunch obviously didn't happen in Chelsea then). His club Chelsea is currently owned by Russian Oil Tycoon Roman abramovic. who himself is worth billions.

 

Coming in at 9th place is another exclusive CHELSEA FC Player, defender John Terry is currently the Skipper (team captain) for Chelsea and also makes regular appearances on the ENGLAND squad. This Londoner is also another high earner topping a massive £135,000 per week. He has played against some of the top players in his league and has a very good football reputation. Now at only aged 28 that is something we can all be truly envious of.

In 8th Place is my personal favourite, Its Manchester United`s Winger and highest premiership goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo. This Portuguese football genius Currently occupies the grounds at Old Trafford and was transferred for £54 million back in July 2007. He currently earns a huge £180,000 per week and has been named Player Of The Year back in 2008. It is said that he is to remain at Manchester Unitedfor the foreseeable future.

 Worthy of the number 7 spot is Liverpudlian Steven Gerrard, who currently plays for Premier League team Liverpool based at Anfield. With their famous slogan "You will never walk alone", he certainly won`t be walking alone as he has an earning of £120,000 a week. In at number 5 the halfway mark is Welsh Manchester United Winger Ryan Giggs.  At Number for we have a 3 way tie between Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinand and ex- footballer Robbie Fowler. Sol Campbell, who currently Plays for Portsmouth Previously played for Tottenham Hotspurs where he spent 9 years on their squad, and the only player to represent England 6 consecutive times in major tournaments. Rio Ferdinand currently plays in defense for Manchester United and was snapped up for a massive 30 million transfer fee, he is also the current vice-captain for the england squad. Robbie Fowler is currently a free agent but has played for the likes of Liverpool FC and Manchester City. These football whizz-kids earn around £120,000 per week.

At my 3rd spot is the legend that is Wayne Rooney. Rooney currently plays as a forward for Manchester United. He has got his fingers in all sorts of pies including ads for Gillette, Adidas and Armani and is married to famous ex Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. he currently earns over £120,000 per week, that's not including all his other slices of pie. He was given the name "Golden-balls" and has been  known to have a choice of wacky haircuts.He has also had a cameo appearance in the film GOAL. He truly is the richest footballer alive.
