Northrend is a new continent that is way bigger than the Outland. It is located at the north of Azeroth.

What you can do now that the expansion is available?

1. Train your professions up to a skill of 350 so that you can train your Grand Master which will in turn award you with the Professional Grand Master.

2. If you are in the level 70's you probably have two professions so why not train them both up to become Grand Master and you will receive the award of Working Day and Night.

3. If you have managed to train the fishing, first aid and cooking to the Grand Master rank, you will receive the achievement of Skills To Pay The Bills.

4. The two starter zone in Northrend are Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord so take some time to explore the grounds and you will receive two achievements, that are Explore Borean Tundra and Explore Howling Fjord.

5. You might want to try riding through Dragonblight.

6. It is best to just settle at one zone so that you can complete the 150 quests in one zone and be awarded with the achievement of "I've toured The Fjord" or "Nothing Boring about Borean".

Death Knight

Death Knight is the latest addition to the WOW family.

What is Death Knight?

Wrath of the Lich King will introduce the death knight Hero class to World of Warcraft. Furthermore, player-vs.-player battles will reach a new level of intensity with the addition of siege vehicles and destructible buildings, along with a new Battleground, Strand of the Ancients.

How To Create Death Knight?

Players who have a character of at least level 55 on the World of Warcraft realm they play will be able to create a new level-55 death knight of any race. If on a PvP realm, the death knight must be the same faction as existing characters. PvE realms have no race restrictions. Upon entering the world, a neophyte death knight will undertake a series of quests designed to introduce players to the class’s new abilities. Players will be able to create one death knight per realm.

What is the role of Death Knight?

We're designing the death knight to be able to fill either a tanking or DPS role in groups. When deciding which type of class we would add to World of Warcraft, we took a very careful look at the current state of the game. Tanks play a critical role in any group, and adding another class capable of filling that role makes it easier for players to form viable groups for dungeons and raids. Our goal is to make the death knight a viable, fun tank that coexists with the current tanking classes without replacing them. One interesting difference between the death knight and other tanks is that death knights don't use shields. We're aiming to make all tank classes equally good at tanking in general so that players can use whatever tank they wish for dungeon and raid encounters.

At level 74 you will find quest givers in major Northrend towns that will send you to Dalaran for free. The only way to get there before 74 is by being ported or summoned. Mages can undertake a quest at level 71 to learn Teleport: Dalaran.

When you have reached level 77.

3. Is there an auction house in Northrend?

No, there isn't. You have to go back to the original cities.

• Ferocious Bite: This ability now only uses up to 30 energy in addition to its base cost.

Hunters

• Kindred Spirits (Beast Mastery): This talent now grants 20% pet damage at max rank.

• Serpent’s Swiftness (Beast Mastery): This talent now grants 20% pet attack speed at max rank.

• Pets

• Lava Breath now reduces the target's casting speed by 25%, down from 50%.

• Poison Spit now reduces the target's casting speed by 25%, down from 50%.

Mages

• Arcane Power now increases damage and mana cost by 20%, cooldown reduced to 2 minutes.

• Arcane Power and Presence of Mind now share a category cooldown. Arcane Power causes a 15 second cooldown. Presence of Mind, once consumed, causes a 1.5 second cooldown.

What is so special about Patch 3.0.8?

It is supposed to fix a lot of things including bugs while adding in some more features for Wotlk.

Below is a list of all the general changes in Patch 3.0.8:

General changes:

* Players may now create death knights on any realm once they reach level 55.

* Bonus Armor: The mechanics for items with bonus armor on them has changed (any cloth, leather, mail, or plate items with extra armor, or any other items with any armor). Bonus armor beyond the base armor of an item will no longer be multiplied by any talents or by the bonuses of Bear Form, Dire Bear Form, or Frost Presence.

* Racial restrictions on mounts have now been lifted. Night elves on mechanostrider? Tauren on raptor? You're not seeing things.

* Tapping: All player spells which cause a creature to become aggressive to you will now also immediately cause the creature to be tapped.

* A new mailbox is now available at the Crows Tavern in the Dalaran Sewers.

* We have added over 60 new graveyards to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.

* The run speed in spirit form has been increased by 50%. Night Elves in Wisp form will now move at 75% increased speed.

* Reputation rewarded for killing mobs will no longer automatically deprecate. This means trivial mobs will continue to give out their full amounts of reputation on kill for the majority of cases in the game (level 70 creatures in Stratholme, for example, will continue to award the full amount of rep to level 80 players seeking to boost their Argent Dawn faction).
