I admit right now that my novel is not high on my list of things I need to do today. This is really is because I am busy working on my three non-fiction pieces. But writing a novel is something that I really want to do. Why a novel? I think I can, I think that my writing will improve as I write.

I already have a first draft done, it's about 500 pages long, and frankly, it is going to take a lot of work.  The plot and the basic characters are in the book.  The content is readable to my friends, but there is still a lot of editing and fixing to be done. I know this, I've been writing for too long not to know this. There is so much that I want to do with this novel.

-Make the characters stronger and more dynamic.

-Rewrite several sagging chapters.

-Do another good read, and cutting of said novel.

-Rewrite Rewrite and Rewrite

After doing all this I want to have my novel published. Now, I'm not against going for the moon, one of the larger publishing companies. I need to think big, but I also want this novel to be published, maybe.

Maybe?? Maybe??

Okay before you ask for my hide, listen to me for a moment or three.

Sometimes the very fact that you write a novel doesn't mean you intend to have it published. For some it isn't about the money, but about the fact that you've finally created something all your own.

Publishing a book is easy, but it does take time, and there are days when 24 hours doesn't seem enough. I want to publish my book for different reasons than what some would expect. I don't want to publish for the wrong reasons. I want to publish a fiction novel because I believe that I am a good writer.

To publish a novel and to write it are something which I am passionate about. I can be so creative and it would be very enjoyable to write and be published in a fiction area. Perhaps fantasy or a literary fiction. Maybe a alternate history.

I'm not sure, the point of the matter is that I publish and write non-fiction books at this point, and i would love to branch out more into the fiction aspect of it all. I am in awe of many authors and writers who work on their novels and get dozens of them published in their lifetime.

I also think that good content writing is also important to writing a good novel. I am uncertain if my novel is at this point "good content writing" I am sure I will find out soon. The work that is done is similar to writing a short story only bigger.

Still I am worried about publsihing this novel.  Perhaps because I am a novice at writing fiction, and my mind wants to research it some more.  I want to be a publsihed fiction author and the only that can happen is if I publish my writing.

With a bit mroe work and a lot more time I should be able to do this.

Maybe one day, I'll publsih my completed novel yet.
