Writing Fiction
54A Blue Print for Writing Any Kind of Fiction
Although I am against cookie cutter techniques, here is a basic blue print of the process that I undertake when I begin to write a fiction story.
Determining The Characters
This take place somewhere in the dreams of my imagination. I know that the character is, what energy they have, and what reactions I want them to have. Ask yourself as many questions about the character as you can. What is their eye color? Do they have pets? Where do they live? What are the components of their personality? Who are their friends? Are they frightened of anything? When you flesh out these details, then you will be able to understand more about them and be able to write about the action in the story with greater detail.
Determining the Setting
Choose where the story will take place and gather details about it. Maybe read a story or two about the region, or study a place that is similar. This is one of the places where research can come in. The detail with which you describe things determines the believability of the world that you create.
Structuring the Plot
There are many ways to structure plot, for a detailed graph of traditional narrative structure read my post under The Art of Writing Fiction for Fans. Since, this is an overview an answer to a post I will not address this here. Try anything that you like. Experiment. Plot out what you want to happen in the story along a timeline or in an outline.
Beginning to Draft
Start following your timeline or outline, as you write. Work through it with out worrying about mistake or problems. Getting one draft done is of utmost importance.
Editing Your Work
Keep editing and drafting until you are happy with the material. Look for big things, as well as small. Mistakes are bad, but so are holes in the plot and an unbelievable characters. Ask your self if things are believable, if there is sufficient detail in the descriptions, or if there is a beginning, middle and end. All of these elements could improve your work if done correctly.
Proof Reading
Proof read it several times through then put it away for a day or two. Then, edit it one more time.
Get A Friend to Read It
Finally, have someone look it over and make corrections.
Now, that you have created your story it is time to share. Post it to hub links and post the link below and I promise that I will read it.
Thanks,
Cynthia

It can be as long as you want it to be, but web standards are about 700-1500 words. I can give you a prompt if you want to. However, I think that it might be good for you to write somethings down that you are interested in. I am glad that you are willing to try it! :-) I can't wait to read it.
Well then, be prepared for some fun. Be on here tomorrow the good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.
Wonderful, I will have a look see tomorrow for sure!

hmmm, how long can it be? How many words? I like this. Can it be about anything I choose? Well, not anything bad or pornographic, just a fun piece.
