Writing Is Addictive
57Days Fly By When Writing
The time flies when I sit down at my computer. I sit down at 6 a.m. and before I know it the clock is ticking away my free time.
Once I start an article, it usually takes about two hours to write an article worth reading. This does not include rewriting or spell checking. I simply love the spell check tools. Sometimes my mind goes faster than my fingers can type and what ends up on my page makes no sense.
So, why is writing so addicting? I never thought what I had to say was very interesting. I started writing a couple of years ago on Helium.com. Was I ever surprised when I received an e-mail stating I was a featured writer. I simply couldn't stop writing then. I felt I had to write more.
Soon I discovered the Marketplace feature on the Helium site. Giving the site a chance, I wrote my first article for a chance to make some real money. The first article I sold was for eight dollars but to me it was as if I'd won the lottery. I have been hooked ever since.
There are millions of titles out there waiting for writers and I plan on writing about those titles. Will they sell? Maybe, but even if they don't, I will be feeding my new addiction and it won't cost me a thing but time.
Someday I hope to write a book. Like most writers finding the time to sit and write a book could be daunting but it will happen one day. I look forward to walking into a book store to see my works on the shelves with so many other people like me who are addicted to writing.
