Writing Topics Research 101
54Writing Toppic Research
I see this question a lot here on the hub pages. How do you research a topic to write about? For starters the most read topics are about current events. This is always a good starting point. For instance I recently wrote an article about the similarities and differences from this recession to the great depression which can be found here. With that article alone I get around 20 viewers for a day and all i did was write it i never advertised the article anywhere else. When ever I check the analytics on that hub it is always being found by search engines as well as other people who have posted the article as a reference on there site for current media.
This is got to be the best way to find out what you should be writing about. Thanks to my exposure to the stock market I was able to answer that question easily. I was also talking to other investors about the same thing months ago. If I would have remembered everything i wrote to the other investors on the yahoo message boards for gspg. I am positive i would have gotten a better score on that article. Even if you do not know much about the articles you are writing as long as it pertains to current events you can not lose with your article.
The second thing i normally write about is how to make money online. Since everyone is always trying to find a way to make money online these also get alot of traffic and viewers. It may not get you the results you want for your advertising campaign for the article but you will get a lot of curious readers.
Third thing I found to be good to write about is driving traffic to your website. This one is probably the hardest one to write about with out spaming the article with a bunch of links. You should get lots of traffic to a hub page about this there is a lot of webmasters out there that do not have a clue on how to get traffic to there site. What i have found very useful though is if you have a branded book. For say Internet marketing success formula or the pizza plan works well to. I have used both with huge success on articles about obtaining traffic to your website.
Forth thing I my self normally write about is politics these always make people think. Is are government doing what is right for us or are they going against us. If i remember correctly the last article I wrote was about our court system and how messed up it is. This one generates me about 10 - 15 hits a week just from writing the article.
As everyone notices I almost always paste my links to my pages after my name. Which is probably another reason why the score goes down so much however you will find the more readers you have. As well as followers that you accumulate your hub score will rise. I did see someone answer this question as trial and error. This can be true in some cases but if you write about current events, money, website traffic, or politics you will generate a lot of followers fast. Every one is involved i these through out the web in one way or the other.
I can also recommend looking at recent request. Right before I seen this one I noticed a few people wanted something about gun laws and guns in our school system. You can use both of those as a way to write an article on all the subjects pertaining to the same thing. Lump it all together and you may just have a masterpiece.
I myself have a website that i normally advertise in here after my name but this is only because i could not work the links into the article. However all the articles above pertain to everything mentioned above. You are probably asking how it can pertain to everything. Well that's cause its a review site which has 5-6 different reviews i have done on products or services. The reviews do change from time to time it just depends on what the hot topic is at the time. Since i change it just about every day to follow whats hot on the searches. It can one day have government reviews for grants and loans. If the hot topic the next day was credit relief I would do a quick review on a few credit relief companies.
Credit these days has been a hot topic since the market is so messed up. This is the reason the review site has a credit relief on it. As well as the many money issues out there I placed multiple test market reviews on my review page just to see whats hot and whats not. When you find something that is working you hold that and change the others to something else. This is one of the best strategies i could ever teach anyone. Once you get 3-4 that work you are done with that site now you get to start making other review sites for others repeating the process.
I did all of this with a free website that i got at www.petevamped.com. This allows me to obtain how ever many websites i want with what ever product i want to advertise as a review. This is probably the best thing i have found to work about making money. With there free sites you can also get a feel for what you should be writing about here on the hub pages. If people are clicking on your reviews at least 20clicks per 100 page views. That is probally one of the hot toppics to write about at that time.
Hope that answered all your questions about what to write about here on the hub pages. I would like to point out as well if you are still unsure what a hot topic is at the moment go to google and do a trend search. That gives you the top 50 searched keywords/phrases. When you are looking through them you will notice that something that just peaked 45 minutes ago is more then likely to spike again in say another hour or 2 it just depends on what it is.
Thank you for reading hope it helps you in your article writing journey. I will answer as many questions as you may or may not have on this topic. Just ask away i do check this regularly
