Writing as Solace
58Writing as Solace
When you're feeling down writing can help you get things into perspective. It doesn't even have to be great or creative writing, freelance writing is just as good. The point is that writing means finding words to plant on a page one after the other in a way that makes sense to yourself and other people. This very simple and prosaic act of pressing the right keys and watching what comes up on the screen can be a great solace.
Writing is a strange bedfellow, on the one hand the writer can get frustrated and feel that his or her creativity is being blocked, on the other sometimes everything seems to flow just right. These are the two extremes of writing - in between are all the little bits of writing, making lists, writing a journal and writing freelance web content. All of these along with creative writing that flows give us comfort in times of need, they are a solace.

I meant to be signed in when I wrote that. I'm new to HubPages and missed that step.

I did a search for "writing" and found this hub. I agree with the solace thing. I can be in a complete fit of emotions, and writing them out just seems to put them back in order. it's very satisfying.
