Writing for Gather Dot Com

I write for quite a few Internet sites now. One of the new ones I got invited to is called Gather. They give you points for everything you write, and if you get a huge glob of points, they'll send you money. I was hoping Hubpages would pay us sooner or later, but until then, I have to search for sites that do.

The idea behind Gather is to link to as many people as possible (called connections), and each time you write or comment or get people to join, you get points. If you are already a member over there, and you like my writing here, please add me to your list of connections on Gather. I've already started a bunch of groups over there.

I also invite the people over there to read my articles on Hubpages here. Making links like that will boost you in the search engines. The more we link everyone to everything, the more hits will get on all the writing sites. And it keeps me from reinventing the wheel. If I have a perfectly good article on Amigurumi here on Hubpages, I don't want to rewrite the whole thing for Gather and Mylots and Live Journal, etc.

It's in my nature to share great ideas with everyone.

So I've earned 234 Gather Points and have 86 people on my friend's list.

All this week Gather has been offering triple points. It ends May 31, so you still have two days to post as many things as you can. I'm doing quite well. I have almost 1500 points. Pretty soon I'll have enough to get a $50 gift certificate at Home Depo or Borders or one of their other affiliates. You can even save for a cruise.

Since the hardest time to make a lot of points is when you are brand new, joining during Triple Points week is a great idea to launch your new point gathering mission.
