Wyclef Jean first joined a hip-hop band called The Fugees. (Don't worry, I've never heard of them either) they produced two albums, one called Blunted on Reality and the other called The Score. The Score sold over 17 million copies worldwide. All three members of The Fugees went solo, including Wyclef Jean. (since I've never heard of anybody else that was apart of The Fugees, I would say Wyclef is doing the best.)

His first solo album was The Carnival. He released his second solo album in 2000 called The Eclefitic: 2 Sides II a book. Then he comes out with another solo album called Masquerade in 2002. Soon after Wyclef Jean has his forth solo album called The Preacher's Son. Wyclef is so full of music that he came out with another solo album called Welcome to Haiti. (I've lost track! Does that make 5 solo albums?) But no.. Wyclef isn't done, last year he released Carnival, Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant. After all of his previous albums, this is the first one that I had heard of.

I first heard him in Hips Don't Lie by Shakira. But I didn't recognize him until I heard this song that I absolutely love, it is his single off of Carnival, Vol II. "Sweetest Girl" featuring Akon, Lil Wayne, and Niia. This is one of my favorite songs. It is amazing. I also just heard a song called "Take Me As I Am" featuring Sharissa. I like it, but I have only heard it once. It made me crack up right at the beginning because Wyclef says "I wanna share this one out to my vanilla ice cream chocolate pudding pie!" ha-ha.

When I started to recognize him a little more, I thought he would be a super big star just because he has the most unique voice. And he is talented and comes out with great songs. I mean he is hard to place in a genre. I don't know if I would put him in hip-hop/ rap (although that is what he I classified as) because he is so unique. But I didn't realize he had already come out with EIGHT albums! Six solo, and the other two with The Fugees. But that shows that he likes what he is doing. I think he is awesome! Obviously nothing is going to stop him from making music! And I certainly hope not. Because he really has so much talent and so much to offer. And he is a really good artist/ musician.
