Pet Food Danger Gauge - How it works

Natural Dog Food Recipe - Easy to Make - Ask Susan Peters

Pet Food Danger Gauge - 60% Safe (Dangerous and Toxic To Pets)

Is it April Fools Day, Wysong? Who is the Mornon that came up with this formula?

You have the nerve to sell this crap for $10.00 a pound? I know your product states it is meant for supplemental feeding only but did this product get mixed up with the garbage? Have you lost your minds? If this is any indication of the products you produce and the care and concern you have for our pets I'm suggesting and demanding a full boycot of your products! Wysong, this may be your first day on the job so let me tell you that cats and dogs are meat eaters. The grains included in your product are responsible for countless pet deaths. Shame on you! I pray you should go broke in the pet food industry.

Sugar - William D. Cusick/The Animal Advocate - all forms of sugar carbohydrates`have been found to be detrimental, except for lactose found in the milk of a lactating bitch for her puppy. Wysong, you are using cane molasses (sugar) to get these poor pets to eat this post production beer/wine by-product trash?

Alfalfa - is a flowering plant in the pea family Fabaceae cultivated as an important forage crop.

Brewer's rice and brewer's dried yeast are by-products of beer production. There you go, your little pet gets what is left over after a beer run, the stuff not fit for human consumption. Alcohols can cause the same damage to an animal's liver and brain as they cause in humans. But the effects can be deadly on animals since they are much smaller than us. The smaller the animal, the more deadly the effects can be. Even a small amount of alcohol may cause vomiting and damage the liver and brain. Brewer's Rice - From AAFCO - the dried extracted residue of rice resulting from the manufacture of wort (liquid portion of malted grain) or beer and may contain pulverized dried spent hops in an amount not to exceed 3 percent.

Yeast carries out fermentation in the production of ethanol in beers, wines and other alcoholic drinks, along with the production of large quantities of carbon dioxide.

Corn - Ground yellow corn and corn gluten meal are cheap fillers used by pet food companies to reduce production costs. Gluten is a super concentrated mix as is meal. So the corn in this batch is actually at least 5 times the amount listed.

The use of Corn, Wheat, and Soy are causing such awful conditions in pets including:

  • Abnormal nail growth
  • Bad breath
  • Blindness
  • Bloat
  • Cancer
  • CRF
  • Cushings Disease
  • Deafness
  • Dental disease
  • Dry and itchy skin
  • Ear aches
  • Ear infections
  • Early pet death
  • Fever
  • Hair loss
  • Heart conditions
  • Hot Spots on the skin
  • IBD
  • Kidney conditions
  • Liver conditions
  • Moles and warts
  • Seizures
  • Sore feet
  • Tumors
  • Weight gain

Bacillus subtilis - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - widely used as additives in laundry deteregents may contaminate food but rarely causes food poisoning.

Aspergillus oryzae - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - to saccharify rice, potatoes and grains for fermentation in the making of alcoholic beverages as huangjiu, sake, awamori and shōchū.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product - Fermentation Products - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Sugars are the common substrate of fermentation, and typical examples of fermentation products are ethanol, lactic acid, and hydrogen. However, more exotic compounds can be produced by fermentation, such as butyric acid and acetone. Yeast carries out fermentation in the production of ethanol in beers, wines and other alcoholic drinks, along with the production of large quantities of carbon dioxide. Grain fermentation solubles are an inexpensive by-product of human food and beverage production which add little or no nutritional value to pet foods. Alcohols can cause the same damage to an animal's liver and brain as they cause in humans. But the effects can be deadly on animals since they are much smaller than us. The smaller the animal, the more deadly the effects can be. Even a small amount of alcohol may cause vomiting and damage the liver and brain.

Lactobacillus casei - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - most common application is industrial for dairy production.

Lactobacillus species are used industrially for the production of yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, pickles, beer, wine, cider, kimchi, chocolate and other fermented foods, as well as animal feeds, such as silage. Lactobacilli, especially L. casei and L. brevis, are some of the most common beer spoilage organisms. The species operate by lowering the pH of the fermenting substance by creating the lactic acid, neutralising it to the desired extent.

Aspergillus niger - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Used in cider and wine clarification. One of the most common causes of otomycosis (fungal ear infections), which can cause pain, temporary hearing loss and, in severe cases, damage to the ear canal and tympanic membrane. Signs may first appear as allergies.

Garlic - is known to be toxic to cats and dogs. We do not know the amount of garlic used in this product nor do we know at what level garlic becomes toxic to small animals. Is using garlic in pet food worth the risk of making a pet sick? No.

Gluten - Super concentrated form of grains. On April 27, 2007, US FDA subjected all vegetable proteins imported from China, intended for human or animal consumption, to detention without physical examination, including: Wheat Gluten, Rice Gluten, Rice Protein, Rice Protein Concentrate, Corn Gluten, Corn Gluten Meal, Corn By-Products, Soy Protein, Soy Gluten, Proteins (includes amino acids and protein hydrosylates), and Mung Bean Protein.

Rice - causes dilated cardiomyopathy in cats and dogs. Rice in pet food interfers with taurine levels which enlarges the heart and eventually kills the cat or dog.

Beet Pulp is another cheap filler used by pet food companies. "Beet Pulp" sounds good, doesn't it? Well it's not. Just because Grandma told us we had to eat our beets as kids doesn't mean it is good for our dogs. Grandma didn't take the nutrients out of the beet and leave us just the dried fiber to eat, did she? Beet pulp is junk. Beet Pulp- From AAFCO - ("beet pulp, dried molasses" and "beet pulp, dried, plain") - the dried residue from sugar beets.

Tomato Pomace - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Tomato pomace is an inexpensive by-product of tomato manufacturing. Effectively, it is what is left-over after processing tomatoes for juice, ketchup, soup, etc. It is sometimes used in pet and livestock food manufacturing as a source of dietary fiber, as well as B vitamins, and (to a lesser extent) vitamin A. As the primary component of tomato pomace is the tomato skin, it has the potential for higher amounts of pesticide residues than tomatoes themselves. Tomato stems are very toxic to cats and dogs. Contain oxalates, which can affect the digestive, nervous, and urinary systems. This is more of a problem in livestock. Green parts of Tomatoes or Green Potatoes (Contain oxalates, which can affect the digestive, nervous, and urinary systems.)

Flax Seed - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - used to make fabric, dye, paper, medicines, fishing nets and soap. Excessive consumption of flax seeds can cause diarrhea.

Barley - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - used for malting and is a key ingredient in beer and whisky production. Barley - From AAFCO - consists of at least 80 percent sound barley and must not contain more than 3 percent heat-damaged kernels, 6 percent foreign material, 20 percent other grains or 10 percent wild oats.

Kelp Use: source of potash and iodine.

Zinc can be very dangerous to animals.

Niacin - - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -Can produce liver toxicity at high doses. Niacin is referred to as Vitamin B3 because it was the third of the B vitamins to be discovered. It has historically been referred to as "vitamin PP." Used for color retention in foods.

Salt - If eaten in large quantities it may lead to electrolyte imbalances, severe electrolyte imbalances can lead to muscle spasm or even congestive heart failure.

Dicalcium Phosphate - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - also phosphoric acid, dipotassium salt; dipotassium hydrogen orthophosphate; potassium phosphate, dibasic - is a highly water-soluble salt which is often used as a fertilizer, food additive and buffering agent.

Lecithin - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - A preservative and emulsifier. A major source of lecithin is soybean oil.

This is great that you're going through ingredient by ingredient, finding out what could be potentially dangerous to cats and dogs. Your hubs are a wonderful resource to concerned pet owners everywhere.

Gluten isn't a super-concentrated form of a grain - it is grain protein(generally from wheat, rye, or other relatives of wheat - farro, etc). It's the binding protein in wheat that allows your bread to become elastic and rise, and makes pie crust tough. It's great you're looking at the ingredients line by line, but seriously... take a somewhat critical eye?
