XBox 360 Hard Drives

The launch of the X- box 360 was sure to turn heads and as the much awaited gaming extravaganza was unveiled, gaming fans all around the globe praised the gaming genius and tried on the unbelievable graphics and high definition games.

Microsoft surely had people swooning over the latest X- box 360 and left nothing to imaginations with the highly detailed games and even better gaming console with built in dual shock system.

As the X- box 360 was unveiled it was excepted from the gaming giant to produce something unique and so complete that nothing could be left for the critics to crib about. And Microsoft as usual lived up to the expectation and without disappointing any fan provided many other additional features into the X- box 360.

The X- box 360 boasts of many other added features than what meets the eye. The various accessories that are available with the amazing X-box 360 are Wired controller, wireless controller, special edition controllers, wireless mics, X- box 360 gaming wheel, X-box 360 messenger kit and many other but also one of the main features of the X- box 360 is the extendable hard disk space that is provided. The X- box 360 has a capability of using extendable SATA hard drives for storage purpose. The storage device is basically used for the purpose of storing games, music, videos, trailer, levels and many other added features.

Also the hard drive is used for transferring the data from one X- box unit to another; it is also used for the purpose of playing original X- box games.

The total capacities of the hard disks that are available with the X- box 360 are 20 GB, 60 GB or 120 GB. Out this provided space the total space reserved for the system purpose is 6 GB. For game caching purpose the space that is reserved is 4 GB and approximately 2 GB is reserved for the purpose of back ward compatibility software.

Thus, the user is left with a considerably less amount of space available for data collection. So Microsoft has come up with the concept of external hard disks. These hard disks are available in the market and come in various sizes depending upon the requirement of the user. The price of a 120 GB hard disk is $149. The hard disk might come preloaded with data including trailers and demo games for the benefit of the user.

The external hard disk comes with a data exchange transfer cable to facilitate the transfer of data from one storage media to another.

The hard disks sold by elite are black in colour and the data transfer cable comes free with them, all one has to do is fill out a form and send it to the specified address.

The hard disks are in their respective casing and are of the standard laptop size of 2.5”.

The Microsoft version of these hard disks is notably more expensive than the SATA ones with their standard firm ware loaded into them.
