2009 could be the year when we see how the console wars come to an head, Traditionally it has been the PS3 that has lead the field with exclusive titles, but the Xbox 360 has come a long way in its efforts to secure exclusive releases, here is a the most up to date list of confirmed titles to be releases in 2009



Halo 3: ODST

Developed exclusively as an xbox 360 games by acclaimed developer Bungie, Halo 3: Recon is a stand-alone expansion that extends the award-winning Halo 3 experience with hours of new campaign and multiplayer gameplay. The release adds a new dimension to an all-encompassing universe that gamers around the world have known and loved for more than six years.

Microsoft has announced the development of Ninety-Nine Nights II, the sequel to Q-Entertainment's Xbox 360 exclusive action title from 2006.

Speaking at Microsoft's Tokyo Game Show address, John Schappert, corporate vice president of Interactive Entertainment LIVE, Software and Studios, unveiled new titles from Japan, including Ninety-Nine Nights II from Q Entertainment and Feelplus. Schappert also noted that the upcoming release of Star Ocean: The Last Hope and The Last Remnant are further proof that Xbox 360 is the best console for RPGs.

Ninety-Nine Nights II is set amid a dramatic, epic backdrop of a warring world and promises to blend strategy and action, allowing players to take control of massive armies to defeat thousands of enemies in massive battles never before seen on the Xbox 360.


Huxley

Huxley is a massively multiplayer online first-person shooting game (MMOFPS) developed by the H-Studio of global online entertainment company, WEBZEN Inc. Huxley takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where human beings have mutated and are divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternative. At the center of the battle for survival is Lunarites, a promising new energy source that both sides seek to obtain. Forced to battle against one another for the continuance of each race, Sapiens and Alternatives are willing to do whatever it takes to wipe out the conflicting race and gain control of the world and its resources.

In near future, Nuclearites bombard the World. Destructive earthquakes, massive tidal waves and dramatic climate changes wreak havoc around the globe, isolating continents and driving the human race into chaos. Those who survive the destruction dream of tranquility, but an eruption among the human race and the appearance of horrible mutants drives the world into further disorder. Racism and oppression cause rebellious uprisings and war that divide the landscape between two powers: Sapiens and Alternative, At the heart of the war emerges a powerful energy source the Lunarites created by Huxley, a scientist and possible savior. Both factions seek glory and victory, fighting mercilessly for the Lunerites and their very existence.


Divine Divinity II: Ego Draconis

In Divinity 2 – Ego Draconis, players find themselves once again in Rivellon, a timeless world full of awe and magic, shattered and frightened by the apocalyptic wars of the past. No one knows why so many people had to give their lives. Everything seems to be over, but the peace was deceptive, for the demon has returned and the horror once again runs its course.

Players begin as a Dragon Slayer, hunters whom travel the countryside determined to rid their lands of Dragons. As the story of Divinity 2 – Ego Draconis unfolds, the player will discover new abilities and possibilities as they evolve into a legendary Dragon Lord. In addition, the player character’s abilities can be steadily improved over the course of the game and specialised in specific areas. The further a player quests in the world of Divinity 2 – Ego Draconis, the more exciting the gaming experience becomes.

Over the course of the game, players will be able to find many items which have special game-play functions; some can be combined with others to advance further in the game. Additionally, players can use a large variety of weapons in their struggle against a seemingly inevitable fate. An extremely varied and demanding quest structure guarantees hours of fun and a high replay value


Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is the fourth entry in the futuristic space opera RPG series, the long-awaited continuation of the celebrated science fiction and fantasy RPG series. This prequel set during the aftermath of World War III combines sci-fi and fantasy elements spanning multiple planets and the vastness of space itself to recount the origins of the Star Ocean universe. Alan Wake

In the world of Majesty, you are the ruler of the kingdom of Ardania. At your service are your loyal and somewhat obnoxious subordinates, who have their own minds about how things should be done. In Majesty 2 your heroes decide on their own what should be done and when, leaving you to try to control them through monetary incentives.

Majesty the game has a lot of followers that has fallen in love with the wicked sense of humour along with the indirect hero control. Now Paradox Interactive and Ino-Co are creating the sequel that will follow closely in the footsteps of the original game as well as bringing all key elements up to date. The charm and humour will remain at the core of the title along with the indirect control aspect of the game.
