(disclaimer: the name xbox720 and all the features included are only assumptions, and aren't officialy made yet.)

As millions of players are currently enjoying gaming on consoles like the Xbox 360, Playstation3 or the Wii, more an more games are coming out each and every month, and the industry is booming like never before. The war between the 3 biggest manufacturers, keeps going on and on, now personally, i am a huge xbox 360 fan, sorry playstation fans.

As time arises and passes by over the years, more and more dedicated gamers of these platforms, are getting eager to know more about the future and especially about the future of gaming, this alone can stand for a great part of todays technological revolution and has even brought, seince fiction like gadgets to real live same as the technology. Think about the i-pod, mp3 and sorts of things, several years ago, this was a gadget in loads of games, so they took the idea and altered it into something fun, that everybody can use, but also for military purposes, like a arm held camera and communications system.

But now about the xbox720, offcourse people expect the gaming system to have incredible graphics, what i also believe, and hey if possible, why not foto realistic. Peter More, one of the ceo's at microsoft has already stated that they are currently working on the console, and they even started on it before the xbox360 was launched. Rumors are going around that this eagerly waited for platform will be announced in 2010, and the launch of the xbox 720 will  be expected  for 2011-2012.They are currently looking at which processors will be available around 2011. Now what already is said about the console is that all gamerscores and achievement points are transferrable onto the new xbox, and this is for the better, so don't worry, no lost gaming for hours and hours to get those points. This offcourse is a no brainer since the xbox live platform is completely independent from the entire system.

What also will be possible is for the gamer to buy the games on the xbox marketplace, via xbox live, this will already be available from august 11th, when xbox trows in a new huge update, now with the avatars people created is little known, but probably also transferrable.

Microsoft won't pull the plug with the xbox360 as fast as with the original xbox, the next gen console will be sold together with the 360 but the last one will have a reduced price, and still games will be made for the older version. Expected is that the Xbox 720 will have some kind of family friendly "motion sensing" controller to reach a larger audience, much like the Wii, but now with the announcement of xbox's Project Natal, it will be even possible that we don't need a controller anymore. Project natal is officially announced as a part of the new console and the developers are even trying to implement this in the 360, although no official statement is made.

For those who didn't here of project natal:it is a project of microsoft and xbox, to play with your body instead of a controller, this is done with a small camera that scan's your body in 3d and projects the player onto the tv screen, so you are literally in the game, when you make a walking move, your caracter moves, when you punch, your caracter punches(you'll get the idea).

There will also be an blue ray dvd player build into the 720, with a backward compatible playing option. same as the games are will be branded on(rumor). possibility is that all games of the original xbox 360 will be compatible on the xbox720, hdmi and wifi will automaticly build in strenghted with bleuthooth.

About games for the new platform is nothing to none known, although i have read somewhere that bethesda gaming is most probably launching it's new Elder scrolls game(and the succesor of Oblivion) on the new console, now i hope it will still launch on the 360, but don't count on it.

Now there isn't much official yet and we'll just have to wait till 2010 for the 1st news of the new console, truth be told i can't wait.
