The iPod has definitely changed the world, and it is no wonder that entire companies, like Xtreme Mac, are dedicated to iPod accessories. In addition to the accessories found here in this previous article, Xtreme Mac has put out more.

SportsWrap

Considering how fragile iPods can be, it is probably best not to go outside without a little protection. The SportsWrap is a Neoprene Sport Armband that keeps the iPod very secure to the arm in a clear plastic area that velcros to the armband well. It also has armstrap that velcros on as tight as you wish, in some cases, a little too tight, but fully adjustable for the upper arm or forearm.

Unlike other iPod wraps or sheaths, it is easy to access the clicker while on the SportsWrap. The mylar allows viewing and touching options. It is good enough to fit all models of iPods, and it can also fit the iPhone. There is a convenient hole for the earphones, and it is completely washable.

The Xtreme Mac Sports Wrap is available on the Xtreme Mac for about $29.95 USD.

Airplay Boost

This device can boost radio signals pretty well, provided there is a radio signal nearby. The external antenna keeps the signal strong, and makes it clear. In other words, it turns the iPod into a radio using the permissible FM range.

The Airplay Boost dock is easy to install, merely plug it into the bottom. There are three easy-access buttons that control the tuning, as well as the radio play interface. The dock also has a port for charging, so you can charge will the device is in use. It has three programmable station presets, and allows the charging on the bottom.

Clearly, the days of traditional handheld radios is now over, and we should be glad that we don’t have to hold them up to our ear anymore.

The Xtreme Mac Airplay Boost is available on the Xtreme Mac for about $49.95 USD.

RoadShow

One of the problems inherent with the iPod is its constant need for charging. Sometimes there might not be an unused USB port, so you might need the RoadShow. The RoadShow is exactly what it sounds like, a way for those who like to take their iPod on long trips.

You can take and charge your iPod using the 12 volt outlet for the cigarette lighter. The cord of the RoadShow is long at about 8 feet, so you won’t have to worry about the cord being to short for your travels.

There is some great RCA auxiliary outputs, so you can hook up your iPod videos to your television or other video outlet.

The Xtreme Mac RoadShow is available on the Xtreme Mac for about $49.95 USD.
