YANA GUPTA has been in India for such a long while now that she is actually mistaken for being an Indian which is not exactly the truth.Yes she did take Indian citizenship when she fell in love(?) and married a promising painter Satya(kam)Gupta and thus began YANA's transformation from SYNKOVA 2 GUPTA as she left her Czech roots to pursue her Indian dream.

Born in 1979, the 30 year old, 5' 8" stunner YANA has achieved a lot professionally as she has been in the industry for almost 15 long years most of which have been at the top of the ladder. YANA SYNKOVA turned independent when she was hardly 16 and moved out of home to start globe trotting that took her to Milan, Rome & Paris as she evolved as a top rung ramp supermodel across the globe. Even before she touched Indian shores, she was already the brand ambassador for Nivea and Mikado and was also endorsing Calvin Klien and Victoria Secret that made her a house-hold name across Europe.

It was during her Europe tour that YANA was splashed on Vogue,Cosmopolitan & Elle and soon she was splashed on the Femina cover as well around that time people in India also started to take notice of this sizzler and when offers started to pour in she decided to explore the Indian circuit too as she was now dating an Indian painter and marriage was on the cards.

Thus YANA SYNKOVA transformed into YANA GUPTA and landed in India. Hardly an year in Delhi and she was scooped to Mumbai when she was lured with a plum item number in the Vivek Oberoi-Dia Mirza starrer 'Dum'. Even though the film bombed terribly without doubt YANA GUPTA was the best thing about the insipid film.

After 'Dum' there was no looking back for YANA GUPTA as she soared from one height of excellence to another as she was named the Fresh Face of LAKME as she took over the brand ambassadorship from Lisa Ray.

Apart from Dum she was also seen in the Amitabh-Arjun Rampal starrer 'Ek Ajnabee' where she performed a sizzling hot item number which like Dum was the highlight of this slick thriller.Not just that YANA has been making inroads into regional cinema too as she has done her bump and grind routine in several Tamil & Telegu films making her very much in demand much before Mumaith Khan landed on the scene.

Even though her career was going great guns her marriage crumbled and eventually ended in divorce when YANA started to show more personal than professional interest in her co-star Aftab Shivdasani. What has many eye-brows raised is the fact that even though YANA got legally divorced from her hubby Satyakam Gupta she still refuses to give up her marital title and return to her maiden name as her entire career has been built on it. Afterall who knows YANA SYNKOVA while YANA GUPTA has a generation drool over her? Or maybe she has seen the ugly fate of what became of Negar Khan and how she was ruthlessly deported so she prefers to play it safe by insisting on remaining  YANA GUPTA rather than take her maiden (sur)name again!!!
