You may have heard about the lawsuit against YTB where the State Of California has sued YTB, charging that the online travel business operates an illegal pyramid scheme and engages in deceptive business practices.

Without commenting on the serious charges made against YTB, people can rest easy that all mlm travel companies do not operate in the same manner.

As a Certified Travel Agent with TraVerus Travel, I am happy to be involved in a company that is first, an actual brick and mortar travel agency. Our network marketing division came much later to take advantage of the ever growing internet business.

This may be a good time to second guess involvement with YTB, and take another look at TraVerus Travel. I am truly glad to have ended my relationship with YTB early in the year. TraVerus is a company I can be proud of.

Noel, You may want to follow the outcome of this lawsuit first. But it couldn't hurt to get legal advice.

Although YTB Travel may be having its problems and may very well be a pyramid scheme, I disagree with your logic on one item. Just because it is an online business does not mean that it would be a bad option under the correct circumstances. Why does everyone think that just because something is "brick and mortar" that it is better? It seems that "brick and mortar" has become a bragging right against many online programs or businesses.

Really, to think that you operate online, one would think that you would have a different viewpoint toward online businesses.

Just because you are in an actual building does not make your business any better than one that is online.

I have nothing against online travel companies. Why would why? TraVerus Travel books travel online.

The difference between YTB and TraVerus is that YTB is a network marketing company that got in the business of booking travel. TraVerus is a "brick and mortar" travel company that got into the network marketing business.

One may think that is the same thing, but it's not.
