One of the largest, newest, and most successful missionary sending organizations in the world is YWAM - Youth With A Mission. What most people don't know though is that all "YWAMers" raise their own support. NO ONE is paid - from the founder, Loren Cunningham all the way down to the newest DTS, Discipleship Training School, student. YWAM is coming up on its 50th anniversary and no one has ever taken a dime in salary.

As wonderful as that sounds, it does take faith and work for those called into missions to raise their own support. Being sent into missions being a bit older, almost 50, I think it has been easier for me to raise support for our work. It is an on-going effort.

What I have noticed in YWAM since joining a couple of years ago is that most of the young people have few skills and little training to go about raising the support they need if they feel led to make missions their career choice.

Our goal is to provide missionaries, not just those in YWAM, the tools, strategies and support raising training needed to provide for their work.

Supporters not only provide financially, but are an essential part of any missionary team providing also prayer and encouragement.
