Yahoo is not only for chatting, sending and receiving emails. Now, you can also save bookmarks with Yahoo bookmarks. This service lets yahoo users save the URLs of their favorite websites on Yahoo, and have them access it from any computer anywhere. It is very accessible and easy to use, plus it is privately saved, giving you the security of not letting others see what sites you bookmark.

There is Yahoo toolbar which when installed in your browser, can let you save webpages and open your Yahoo bookmarks with just one click. Just do not forget to sign in using your Yahoo ID. Once you are in your bookmarks page, you can add your favorite sites by saving the URL, title, a little note and some tags. These bookmarks may be accessed by you alone or by some of your contacts, depending on how you set the access to your bookmarks.

For those who already have bookmarking accounts in other bookmarking services and want to transfer some or all of their bookmarks to Yahoo, there is a way to import your bookmarks. This can also be done if you want to import bookmarks from your own browsers. For importing bookmarks from your browsers, go to the import link listed at the right and check the browser bookmarks box. For importing bookmarks from del.icio.us, go to this link: http://del.icio.us/api/posts/all, log in to your del.icio.us account, and save the page by going to the File menu in your browser and clicking on Save As or Save File As. Take note of the location where you saved the file. When done, locate the file in your PC then click on the import button.

There is also an export option where you may export your bookmarks on Yahoo by going to the export link listed on the right, then save the html file then import it to any bookmarking service where you may want to import it.

What is wonderful with Yahoo bookmarks is the credibility that Yahoo has in terms of it's services delivered to its clients. With Yahoo, you are assured that your bookmarks are stored safely and will never be deleted for as long as you keep your username and passwords safe, and you are assured that their site is 99% up most of the time.

Very good information and links, but the MyWeb service was discontinued. I found another direct link to the Yahoo tools: http://bookmarks.yahoo.com/tools
