Nice article, well written with a good deal of information.

I have used all 3. Now I primarily use yahoo mail. I don't use yahoo for emails containing photos; it's too much of a hassle. Also, yahoo just decides out of no where that emails with copy/paste sometimes, are spam. And even if you enter the security scramble, the email won't go through. It's so annoying.

I use gmail for photos, and when yahoo just won't cooperate. I haven't had any problems with gmail at all. Photos are convenient and so far it hasn't pulled that weird refusal crap that yahoo has.

I will never use hotmail again. Unreliable, outages, tons of junkmail, and attachments are a hassle. I hate MSN.

If talk about Email system , then no service can match GMail's power of speed, space and easy interface plus search features. GMail has the best inbox on the earch. The power of ajax is unmatched. Others tried to match ajax but the speed GMail offers is unbelievable. The grid loads the mails in milli seconds which is unbelieable.

The Yahoo! is good for CHAT. And its okay that Yahoo! has the best messenger. It gives nice chat, voice, photo sharing, cam, conference. So Yahoo! Messenger rocks.

MSN tried to compete both stuff but NO WAY. Msn is GOOD but not in competition with other products.

Gmail is the best. By far.

Sorry, but Yahoo! isn't as satisfying for me ... and Hotmail, despite a noble effort from Microsoft, SUCKS.

Max  says:

My ranking is:

Yahoo(certainly unbeatable)

Gmail(close competitor)

Hotmail(not bad but cant compete with the other two)

1. Yahoo permits all types of attachments.

2. Yahoo is unlimited.

3. Yahoo has now cool front-end.

4. Gmail rejects attachments.

5. Gmail recently removed Beta.

6. Hotmail has nothing to be specific.

Gmail is lame. no folders, based on "conversation"? What if the conversation subject changes in the middle of the conversation?! Yahoo has folders and that is superior to Gmail. A lot the gmail infatuation is similar to the Apple pretentiousness that thinks a minimalist design is somehow proof of genius, when it is actually proof of a lack of imagination.
