Yamaha RX-Z11

The Yamaha RX-Z11 performance sets a new standard in home theater experience. It is compatible with the newest version of the HDMI standard and can be connected to a PC or Yamaha MCX-2000 enabling access to internet radio via LAN. The Yamaha RX-Z11 can essentially scale up and down from any resolution to any other resolution. For the first time this includes HDMI and HD signals. The Yamaha RX-Z11 represents the pinnacle of technology in a flagship receiver. It?s ability to transform your listening space into a concert venue or mega Cineplex is unrivaled thanks to the powerful arsenal of DSP processing, and robust amplifier section for a full 11.2 channel spectacle.

Oh, I can't even believe it, 11.2 Channel Surround, that's the best of sound, Yamaha introduces a new benchmark for home theater receiver performance, i'm talking about the YAMAHA RX-Z11. The new icon takes high end receiver evolution to another level with an enormous range of exciting features, capabilities and cutting edge on sound technologies.

<Features>

11.2-Channel High Density Surround Sound

The RX-Z11 delivers 140W x 7 channels plus 50W to the four presence and rear presence channels. It also allows the simultaneous use of two subwoofers (hence 11.2 channels). In addition to Yamaha’s latest CINEMA DSP HD3 technology for high density, incredibly detailed surround sound, it provides extensive zone customization functions, enabling the 11 amp channels to be allocated to zones 2, 3 and 4 in various configurations.

HDMI 1.3a Compatibility

The RX-Z11 is compatible with the newest version of the HDMI standard, 1.3a, providing the benefits of Deep Color (30/36bit) and the xvYCC color standard. Digital video and audio signals can be transmitted via a single HDMI cable and it accepts the lossless audio formats DolbyTrueHD and DTS Master Audio. There are five HDMI inputs, one of which is on the front panel, as well as two HDMI outputs that allow images to be simultaneously displayed from two devices, such as a flat panel monitor and aprojector. HDMI 1.3a means the RX-Z11 can handle the high 1080p/24Hz resolution of Blu-ray Discs, and also provides an Auto Lip-Sync function that automatically adjusts the lag between video and audio and a double speed Refresh Rate of 120Hz.

Network Receiver Capabilities

Like other Yamaha network receivers, the RX-Z11 can be connected to a PC or Yamaha MCX-2000, and can access Internet Radio via a LAN. It also has an HD Radio tuner and can display HD Radio information on the front panel or on a monitor. Two USB ports are provided, on the front and rear, with 500mA power support. It is compatible with PlaysForSure devices, Windows Vista, Yamaha Music CAST and various audio Codecs such as MP3, WMA, WAV and MPEG4 AAC. And the Compressed Music Enhancer restores the sound of the original music from digitally compressed formats such as MP3. The RX-Z11 offers an improved version that processes multi-channel signals with a DSP algorithm, so all channels (rather than just two) are enhanced, for more accurate reproduction and a more expansive sound.

XM HD Surround Sound

XM and Neural Audio Corporation announce XM HD Surround, which provides content with six discrete channels of digital full fidelity audio powered by Neural Audio technology. Marking the first time that a radio company has broadcast in 5.1 Surround Sound twenty-four hours a day. Back in April 2006, XM broadcast the Fine Tuning® (XM Channel 76) and the classical pops music channel XM Pops (XM Channel 113) in XM HD Surround. XM will also broadcast a variety of special shows and live music performances at the XM studios in XM HD Surround.

Neural Surround THX Technologies

Neural-THX® Surround makes surround music, radio listening and games more accessible and enjoyable. Neural-THX Surround’s unique encoding process provides the rich envelopment and discrete image detail of surround sound in a format 100% compatible with stereo for use in CD’s, Radios, portable digital music players and digital music downloads. With superior spectral resolution and channel separation, Neural-THX Surround draws the brain’s attention to the sonic details in musical instruments, vocals and ambience that are typically masked by other playback systems. This allows the listener to fully experience the richness and subtleties in recorded performance as never before.

THX Ultra2 Plus

THX Ultra2 Plus is the ultimate benchmark for audio performance in the home. THX Ultra2 Plus certification is reserved for receivers that have the power to deliver sound to a wide viewing area in large home theaters and media rooms. The recommended room size for THX Ultra2 Plus Certified AV receivers is 3,000 cubic feet or larger, with a minimum 12-foot viewing distance from the video display to the primary seating positions. THX Ultra2 Plus Certified receivers include a number of proprietary THX technologies, including THX Surround EX and THX Loudness Plus. Each technology is designed to compensate for the acoustical errors that occur when movies, music and games are translated from the professional studio to the home environment.

CINEMA DSP HD3

Yamaha latest evolution of CINEMA DSP utilizes four Quad CINEMA DSP engines and permits lossless decoding of 192kHz signals, while providing 3D processing that gives the sound field an extra vertical dimension. In its full 11-channel configuration setting it adds two presence and two rear presence speakers, offering the enjoyment of a completely new sound stage.

And much much more!!!

Better Sound Through Stereo Bluetooth

Bluetooth technology has been getting more and more popular over the years because it is a wireless connection system that works and is easy to use. However, instead of just using it for a cell phone earpiece you can now use it for high quality music transfer, called A2DP or stereo Bluetooth. A2DP stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile and creates high quality stereo transfer by better utilizing its bandwidth. Bluetooth's available bandwidth is divided between two layers, a data layer and a voice layer. Mobile phone headsets use the voice layer, a small amount of dedicated bandwidth. All other Bluetooth communication happens through the much wider data layer. A2DP technology sets aside a section of the data layer and sends high quality audio through it. With this new technology, you can stream music to other devices that suppor t it like headphones or stereo equipment. However, to work properly both devices (transmitter and receiver) must be A2DP compatible.

All of the current Yamaha receivers can take advantage of this wireless music playback using the optional YBA-10 stereo bluetooth adaptor

Step Up to the RX-V665

For those who really appreciate gaming, music and movies, the RX-V665 is the place to start. This multi-functional receiver is full of valuable features that make it stand out from the rest. The 665 features automatic YPAO setup and system calibration, plenty of connectivity with 4 HDMI inputs and the ability to hook up 12 total sources, the multi-channel compressed music enhancer, updated Scene buttons, and high resolution audio processing.

Even though the RX-V565 is quite impressive there are a number of reasons why you should step up to the RX-V665. The RX-V665 is both XM and Sirius satellite ready, so simply add the matching antenna(s), subscribe to the service and you are ready to go. Listening to over 100 channels of commercial free music or Howard Stern cannot get any easier. A high current amplifier and Digital ToPART construction improve upon the sound quality while Cinema DSP 3D processing allows for the use of a pair of front effects speakers. These so-called presence speakers add a sense of height to games, music and movies intensifying the home theater experience in a unique way. In fact, use Dialog lift to center the sound image on the screen so it seems like the actors are speaking right at you instead of the sound orig inating below or above the screen. The RX-V665 can be used to power a 2nd Zone of audio and features 12v triggers and remote in/out connections to make custom installations work flawlessly.
