I was talking to my dad tonight and we were talking about my happiness and joy article. We were talking about how some people say things make them happy. A Lot of people we have noticed that money and things make them happy. I know first hand that money and things can't make you happy, I also know that when you die you can't take those things with you when you leave this earth. I think people who have to have a lot of things to make them happy aren't really happy or they are happy for the moment while they have the new things, but then when something new or greater comes out they want to be the first ones out to go get the new things. I have news for them they can't take it with them when they go. I saw a shirt once that said "he who dies with the most toys...still dies" that is so true.

I know I always wanted to live in a big fancy house and drive a big fancy car and have everything.  I realize now and have realized for a while now you can not take it with you.  The things you can take with you are not material things.  You take your soul with you when you go.  You take the things that God has given you, such as your talents.  When you die I really don't think you will be remembered for all the things you had on earth.  But you can be remembered by the things you did and who you were.  I know I don't want to be remembered by my things I had but by my actions and who I was as a person.  My grandma (dads mom) died a few months back and I could tell you I remember what she had as in things, but not everything she owned.  I will remember her for the love and kindness she had for other people.  I think that is something to remember someone by, not by the house they lived in or the car they drove or the things they had.  Those things will not get you to heaven or will you be able to take them to heaven with you.  Take the things God has given you and put them into practice.  God has given you love, life, joy, peace, patience, happiness, and lots of other things and if we put those things into practice in our daily life I can tell you you will be remembered for those things.  Just something short to think about when you are out shopping for things.  I know you need things to help your life happen, but remember you can't take it with you.
