You're not alone. Every person that has spent anytime building an online business has been attacked by Tech Monsters once or twice. They are invisable little monsters that creep into your computer and make everything stop working. They espcially like to feed on online business...watch out! Suddenly, the deliverablity rate on your email blast is through the toilet, or maybe your double opt-in page went hay-wire and now your lead generation efforts are in vain, perhaps that big joint venture deal was a complete waste because of some stupid technical error or maybe you just can't get your affiliate link to track sales properly. Whatever it is, I am sure that you have gone head to head with a Tech Monster. Well, I am here to tell you, you are not alone!

Through the years, I have spent hundreds of hours trying to fix technical problems on my own. I have battled with Tech Monster attacking everything from lead generation systems to shopping carts to conference lines. I know that I am smart enough to figure it out...in fact, it was this belief that caused me to spend so much time on it, but then I realized...it was a waste of time! As the big-picture-thinker of my company, it is my job to keep my eyes to the horizon and continue to work towards general lead generation, list building and offering valued products.

Wasting time battling the Tech Monsters was just not where I should be spending the hours of my day...and either should you! 1. First, assess if you have the time to figure out the answer to your problem. Most likely, you are smart enough to figure it out if you spend enough time working on it. However, if it is not profitable or is not helping you come closer to accomplishing your big picture success, it's probably not the best use of your time. That means, it's time to call in the troops.

2. Look for someone you can ask to help you figure out the technical problem you are having. If you have a tech-sauvy friend, great...call them in for a favor. If not, look for someone that you can barter with. Perhaps your talent lies in lead generation and you can swap that service for their technical expertise. A barter arrangement can be benefcial for both parties!

3. If you don't have someone that you can barrow or barter services with, I suggest that you outsource. Outsourcing can be a fantastic way to move forward quickly, prevent frustration and allow yourself to work on things that you are best at. 4. But what if you don't have the money to outsource. Don't fear...you still have another option. If the technical problem you are having is related to a service you pay for like an autoresponder, lead generation, hosting or a shopping cart, just call up thier support center. Let them know the problem and ask them to show you how to fix it. One VERY important note here: Don't get off the phone with them until your problem is fixed. Ask them to walk you through the process while you are on the phone. Don't be afraid to be firm with this. Otherwise, you may find yourself all alone again with the Tech Monsters! Technical problems (aka Tech Monsters) happen to all of us, no matter how long we have been working an online business. It's important to remember that you have resources and choices to help you thorugh and your most important job is keeping your online business moving forward!
