You Don't Need a WebSite - You Need a Blog!
65Build a Better and Quicker Website with Blog Software
If you are thinking of building a website then think again!
Before you choose the usual route to build your website using site builder software such as Frontpage, Dreamweaver, XSitePro, NSU or even coding using HTML you should take time out to consider using blogginG software to buiLd your new site.
Most blogging software is Free and these days this software has been developed and improved to such an extent that you can now use it to easily build traditional looking websites.
Also you don't need any technical knowledge or programming skills to build your website as everything is just poing and click.
Blog websites are so easy to setup and add content to that you should do this first before attempting the technicalities and cost of building a website the usual way.
The search engines just love blog type sites and you will get indexed quicker and when you add content that will get indexed quicker too.
They are also easier to promote using the RSS feeds that each site gets as standard.
Just go to Blogger.com or Wordpress.com and follow their instructions and you'll have your website (or blog) up and running in no time and you won't even need to buy a domain name or find web hosting.
There are many different template designs (page layout and colors etc) to choose from to give your blog the look and feel that you want.
And the best part is that these sites are all totally Free!
Do You Want to Build A Serious Website?
Self Host Wordpress for the Best Results
To build the best website for your needs, whatever they might be, you should build your website using Wordpress blogging software.
More and more top web developers are realising that Wordpress is the now the best way to build a great website, but to get the most out of this software (even though it is free) you need to have your website hosted on your own web hsoting account.
If you have a site hosted for free at wordpress.com you are restricted in what you can do on your site and if it becomes sucessful you will not be able to sell it.
If you self host Wordpress, the software is still free, and you can do whatever you like and seel your site if you want to. It also means that you can customize it more and tickner with the code if you really want to
Wordpress is easy to setup and configure, especially if you host your sire with a company like Hostgator who have cPanela and Fantastico which provide a one click Wordpress installation faciltiy.
Buidling the site is also quick and easy, even for the technically challenged, leaving you to concentrate on the important tasks of content generation, searchengine optimization and website promotion through quality backlinks.
You can also self host blogger software, but this has to be done form blogger.com. However it is difficult to set up, always very slow to post and can often have technical problems, so this is not recommended.
Blogger Example:
See this Affiliate Marketing Tools blog, which has been added to an exisiting website, for an example of a blogger blog, which is self hosted (ie not at Blogger.com). This works, but is a real pain to maintain and manage. Do not go this route!
Wordpress Example:
Visit this website on Affiliate Blogging to see how you can easily build a good looking website with Wordpress. All the software used to build it is free, so your only cost is the domain name and the web hosting, which you can now both get very cheaply. This is the way to go. Recommended!
Have fun with your website!

Funny I have just done a hubb with the opposite conclusion. I agree with you that they are easier to set up, and are indexed more quickly, but for the long run we have had more success with a website.
