You like me, you really like me!!! A warm-fuzzy from HubPages

I'd like to thank the Hubcademy.....
I plan to mark this day in history on my calendar. I know, today is not any kind of national holiday. The banks are open. The mail arrived. They came this morning and picked up my trash. So what is so special about today? It’s not even my birthday.
Well, today is a day that the planets aligned and the HubPages angels smiled.
At me.
Today, as of 8 am Central Standard Time, I have a score of 98. That"s my hubber score.
You know, that number that shows up in the lower-left corner of your picture. That number that may change at any time, up or down, depending on how awesome you are.
I’ve also been nominated for a prestigious writing award, which I will address in a moment.
I joined HubPages about six weeks ago. I’ve always enjoyed writing, but had never put anything out there to the general public, except in the classroom.
Many years ago.
In school, when given a writing assignment, I would often turn it in to something silly or at least fun.
I remember in English class, we had to write a chapter for a story about the ‘Ledbetter’ family in a few chosen styles. I chose romantic drama, and changed it to the Bedwetter Family. You can imagine, it caused plenty of wonderful disruption in class
For Comp 1 in Junior College, the assignment was a “how-to” paper. Mine was titled “The How-To of a Ho-Ho.” You know, the chocolate (ey) and cream filled rolled-up cake wrapped in foil? If you remember the Ho-Ho, you may know that you have to unwrap it a certain way, peel of the shell, lick out the cream, I could go on and on…..
Perhaps I write humorous stories and papers because I like the approval and recognition. Hmmm…. Approval and recognition. Now, where have I found approval and recognition? And encouragement?? And feedback and advice? And a feeling of community?
You know the answer.
I’ve learned that the number next to your picture (I guess it’s called your Hubber score?) is like a grade that keeps you posted on how you are doing. I know now that the more traffic you get to your hubs, and the more you participate in the forums, add comments, etc., the greater your Hubber score. Am I right?
And just as important, if not even more surprising, this week I have the honor of being nominated as a Hubnugget Wannabe. Wow! My first thought was “now what in the heck that?” “Is that a good thing?” But the HubMeisters explained it well when I followed the links, and I am completely stoked!
The hub is called "Top 5 reasons to enjoy a long drive to work." One which I thought up while driving to work.
Go figure.
And now, even as we speak, or should I say even as I write and you read, I am mentally preparing my acceptance speech. My stylist tells me that underpaid little old ladies are continually sewing sequins on my red-carpet gown, and a lovely pair of $300 Jimmy Choo shoes are being Fed-Ex’d from Manhattan. Just waiting for the official award ceremony invitation to arrive. Perhaps it will come tomorrow.
So, with my Hubberscore of 98 (however fleeting it may be), and my Hubnugget nomination, I hereby decree this date in history as:
My Own Personal HubPages Day of Awesomeness.
Thanks, folks.
You're the awsome ones.

Great Hub!
Thank you Feline and Duchess for your encouragement.
I see that my score has changed to 96 in the time it took to write this hub, but oh well, no reward without challenge!!
You are well on your way to Hubber Greatness, my friend. Keep of the great work. Don't be let down if your score drops. I'll admit, I get perplexed myself and question my Hubbing activity when first it plummeted. There are things/factors that we cannot control. Just continue forward and believe in the Golden Rule. Do this and I promise you that good things will happen! You will reach 100! It's just a matter of time!
Lol, I really enjoyed this :) Congrats.

Way to go Elisabeth! Keep 'em coming!
It was so much fun reading your hub and looking at the photos (love that red carpet!).
I too find hub pages feels good and keeps you so motivated! If ever there was a place where you can adhere to that advice from all the authors - you know that 'you must write everyday' thing which is just hard to do unless you feel motivated - well hubpages keeps me going, keeps my writing muscles alive and primed.
Thanks so much for sharing your joy (and great humor) with us!
I got as far as the back tat...I'm still there...woof, woof...now, what was this Hub about..?
I predict you will have a 100 score soon. Nice job.

Jaspal, ha ha rich and famous, wouldn't that be great!
well, at least the rich part.
Thank you so much for reading my hubs and all your encouragement. You're awesome-er than me, though.
Your words are just that your words. You take your words and add a little bit of yourself. By doing this your internal light shines and exposes who you really are. Well before I really get to serious I got to turn the bathroom light on so I can use it. Internal light not much dam help when you got to go.
tomdhum
if your internal light won't guide your way, a cell phone's glow will work in a pinch
The promised land. A 98. I dream of my personal day of awesomeness also.
