Young Entrepreneurs - Aviance
59
Teenager Aviance, growing up in Harlem, Georgia, was looking for a way to make money with her artistic talents.
She noticed a growing trend for people to wear beanies, and not just plain beanies - beanies with interesting patterns and colors.
"One day I was fooling around, trying to create something different and realized that I could do beanies," she told BlackPR recently.
Her creative interest was sparked, and before long she had a thriving business making personalised, individually-designed beanies for a growing crowd of fans.
She quickly discovered she was getting repeat customers, and her search for new and interesting designs has led her to research uniquely designed yarns and knitting patterns.
Now seventeen, Aviance has launched a website to make her beanies more widely available.
Clients place an order on the website, and then have a personal chat with Aviance to determine their unique beanie design.
On her website, www.justaviance.com/beanies, she says:
I am a young aspiring singer and entrepreneur who enjoys having fun, while still working on all my projects. My beanies are just one of my many ventures that allows me to continue to exercise my artistic abilities.
Aviance demonstrates that you don't need a complicated business idea, just a product with a point of difference.
Something unique, personalised, and handmade, in today's mass-produced culture, is going to appeal - and particularly if it makes a fashion statement!

It's amazing what people can accomplish when they figure out what they want in life and then make it happen. Nice story. Thank you.
