Young Living is a company started by Gary Young that produces essential oils. Gary Young with a background in agriculture, realized the need to share with the world the power of essential oils. Young, who suffered a crippling injury that nearly cost him his life, traveled the world to study essential oils and alternative health care. He has become the foremost authority in natural health and intensely committed to sharing his knowledge and expertise about essential oils with others.

Young Living has its own land where they grow the lavender and other herbs used to make therapeutic-grade esential oils. Gary Young started planting these plants on a one-quarter acre farm in Spoken Washington then he added it by acquiring land in the pristine forests of St. Maries Idaho to expand acreage available for growing aromatic plants. More lands were also purchased in Mona, Utah and Simiane-La-Rotonde, France, devoted solely to the production of lavender and other aromatic herbs, thus making Young Living's farms the largest devoted to that purpose in North America and possibly the world. The first office was situated in Riverton, Utah, then moved to Payson, Utah. It was in 2003 they opened a corporate office in Lehi, Utah and is currently the world headquarters.
