Is the emergence of older women and younger men such as Demi Moore has in her relationship with Ashton Kutcher causing  an unrevocable trend? For many years, it has been a part of American culture for young women to date older men because of the experience that he brings to the relationship. The man is always thought of to have the most experience in relationship as part of the American culture.

Also the woman was rather awkward if the man is a bit shorter than her in stature as in the case of Nicole Kidman and her two men Tom Cruise and Keith Urban. Though Nicole Kidman seem at ease with the difference in height dimensions, the diference in the age of a woman and a man is not as easy tolerable when the woman is older. Why? Because of the adjunct of Adam being created before Eve may shed some light on why most women prefer older men and older men prefer younger women. This hypothesis has not been proven and is only offered as an unproven explanation of the trend of older women dating younger men.

With the liberation of the American culture with several states actually legalizing same sex marriages; the scenario of the older woman and younger man has been given a niche in which to exist. Although this emergence of age differences with the woman being older is more prevalent in Hollywood where there is a cache of age domination (with the younger being more desirable), older women and younger men can be seen together in rural and urban America.

As the videos in this article demonstrates, the ecosystem of the older woman and the younger man is quite different. As the end of the relationship nears, the younger man will cling to the older woman as if losing a maternal figure in his life. The younger woman in an older man's life will cling also but not so haunting as the latter. The younger man is intrigue at having the gumption to attract a beautiful successful older woman and do not want to be thrown back in with people of his own age who now may seem to him as immature.

Older women and younger men is certainly a trend. Is the trend  a tragedy should be the question. Unbeknownst of a scientific study of the older woman-younger man phenomenon, the question can not be answered quantitatively. What can be said is that the one in the population that everyone is aware; the relationship between Demi Moore and Ashton is that the glue still remains strong in the relationship so far.

Now Demi Moore's ex-husband Bruce Willis has married a younger woman in her twenties who although quite younger than him did not get the media blitz as Demi and Ashton. Why? Because Americans accept the older man and younger woman as the norm and have even coined the term of robbing the cradle as legit. Robbing the cradle or having a relationship with a younger woman is the norm for older men. However the "cougar" trend of older women having relationship with younger men is something one would think cognizant of the Jerry Springer show as an odd relationship.

An Older woman with a younger man may not be as prevalent as an older man with a younger woman but as women continue to participate in society's mores of liberation between the sexes, the trend will probably not wain. The only tragedy in the "cougar" trend is the tendency of the younger man to take advantage of the older woman's status in society by receiving gifts and loans of finances as well as from the heart.

These are most of the cases seen on Judge Judy television program comprised of the older woman buying the younger man gifts either to keep his attention or to stay in a relationship with him. Judge Judy is always surprised as is the audience as to why these older women give these  younger men their money and their hearts. The younger man usually have to pay the loan back if not a gift but what about the waste of time the cougar spent in the relationship.

Most of the time the relationship involves around sex because a scientific study was done that proved that women reach their sexual peaks in their thirties and forties at the same time that younger men reach their sexual peaks. Many of these older women with younger men are learning that what is good for the bedroom is not necessarily good for the relationhip as a whole. The younger men may mature great in the darkened bedroom room but what about having an equal partner when making important decisions.

Demi Moore is applauded for being able to stay phycially and mentally fit for a relationship with a younger man but there is always the question: How long will the relationship last?
