Remember Morris the Famous Cat, the 15 lb. orange striped tabby tomcat with dark green eyes and a torn eyelid. Morris was the feline spokescat for the 9Lives Cat Food Company and was the epitome of the spoiled, pampered pet.
An employee of the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency named Bob Martwick, a devout animal trainer, rescued Morris (previously named Lucky) in 1968 and turned him into a major TV star and created one of the most successful television ad campaigns in history.

Great Hub. Very funny and cute. I love the cat hats.
Got to love Bynx. My cat looks just like him.. Wonderful hub
This hub made me laugh and say "awww" a lot. The cat in the top hat looks just like my cat Buddy.
As humiliating as those hats were...darn, I thought they were cute! :)
I have one cat that I always thought could be a "star"...but he's strictly a still photo shot kinda cat. Poses for the camera, but doesn't really feel inclined to do anything more. I call him my little "Cosmo Kitty"
G-Ma...Thank you. Cats are cool and they rule! But I can't have one :( cuz 2 peoples that live here r alergic...G-Ma, I say no fair! xxx
--------------
Gwendymom aren't those hats priceless. I'm going to find more they were the best part of putting this hub together. Thanks a lot for checking the hubmob out! lol
--------------
Rodney...so you've got a spooky cat? I had an all black cat when I was young and his name was Hollis. My father loved that cat and named him after some town way up in Maine where he grew up. He probably had an old girlfriend or something up there he wanted to remember her by. lol hmmm...I'll have to ask him. Now I'm wondering how your cat got his/her name! Thanks for coming by and commenting.

NYLady....lol...lol...lol...it's making me laugh too and an awww awww here and an awww awww there... Your Buddy must be a hunk!!! It's always nice to see you!
The author Nicole Hollander that appears in our Amazon adds is one of the best author/cartoonists I have read, with her cats dogs, bartenders, and Venusians.
I knit hats for cats, by the way and my first book I recall as a child was The Cat in the Hat. :)
spryte...ya just got to love em, humiliating or not! That 2nd cat looks like my father and the 3rd cat looks like my mother with her used to be red hair! Hmmm I'm wondering which one I look like....I do look more like my father than my mother. I'm gonna have to go find a cat that looks like me! "Cosmo Kitty" is a still photo shot kinda cat...can't you poke his butt along and get him movin. I'm surprised spryte, you being from my neck of the woods! lol Thanks for coming by.
Patty...I will have to check out Nicole Hollanders work. Sounds interesting and so does the fact that you knit kitty hats. Do you sell them to complement your adsense earnings? Thanks for stopping by. I will be around later to check out all the hubmobs...just as I'm having fun, I've gotta go...so is life!
Dottie,
Great advice, pictures, videos and cat hats.
Thanks for the fun time. Thumbs up ~ eddie
Hi Eddie,

Great hub, but your poor cats look so depressed at wearing those hats :)
misty...you are so right, the poor cats do look depressed. I'll have to see what I can do about that. Thanks for stopping by and bringing this to my attention.
Hi Aunty Dottie, i see u like cat right? Its very beautiful, your work is beautiful. Good luck.
Or possibly they are just embarrassed :)
Misty lets hope it was just embarrassment. I meant no harm, really! The model cats thank you very much for your concern and have picked out a gift especially for you.

Dottie:) This hub is sooooo cute and fun i just had to be a part of it! :)
Lobsang Rampa sez there is a planet inhabited only by cats! (pass the salt please!)
He goes on to say that cats are sent to planet earth to observe the "behavior" of humans, and report to higher authorities!!!
I have had the good fortune to observe these observers on many occasions.
Once I spotted an observer staring daggers at a tiny crack in the wall, with his tail slowly moving to and fro, with his eyes wiiiide open!!! He had spotted some movement! ... and was waiting to pounce on whatever the source of the movement was! I simply cannot forget that event. It's beyond description!
That was just one instant.
Misty...very nice to say that you were touched, I'm glad. The kitties said meowww!
Hi Compu-smart....I'm glad you had fun here. Can I assume then this hub passed the cat inspection? Thanks for taking part.
Hey quicksand... isn't that Lobsang Rampa guy the Buddist Monk whose books he says were written by his cats? lol...strange! Thanks for stopping by and for the heads up on these furry visitors! You don't think compu...no never mind! LOL
Hi Dottie1,
Lobsang Rampa had been a Tibetian monk who had transferred his soul to the body of a Canadian and continued to live in Canada. He wrote books about Tibetian Lamas and their "out of this world" experiences. I do not recall any mention about cats writing his books.
I seriously doubt that cats had written his books for him. Had they done so, it would have been full of meowrrr, krrr, ngaew, yeeeow, and so on ... Wink!
LOL, some bookshops display all his books in the fiction section, although he swears that all he says is true!!!
Hey again quicksand...I hope curiosity won't kill the cat but now I'm curious.
quicksand quoted "I do not recall any mention about cats writing his books".
I admit this sounded a bit crazy but I do recall hearing something to that effect so off i went to explore and found this:
Later career (found in Wikipedia) Rampa claimed that his 1964 book "Living with the Lama" was dictated to him by his cat. Lobsang Rampa went on to write another eighteen books containing a mixture of religious and occult material. One of the books, Living With The Lama, was claimed to have been dictated to Rampa by his pet Siamese cat, Mrs. Fifi Greywhiskers. Faced with repeated allegations from the British press that he was a charlatan and a con artist, Rampa went to live in Canada in the 1960s. He and his wife San Ra'ab became Canadian citizens in 1973.
OK so the book was not written by his cat, just dictated by him. Silly me...cats don't write! Sorry for the confusion. I learn something new everyday and love it.
I just couldn't resist this picture of the Famous Cat, Mrs. Fifi Greywhiskers!

Hi Dottie1,
Thanks for the info on Lobsang Rampa. It was in the seventies that I last touched a book by him. At that time, I probably would have ignored any statement made by him about cats dictating or writing, along with other ridiculous things said by him.
Initially I believed what he said, but later on things changed.
However, from his books it was evident that he was a real cat fan, like us!
Touche!
Very cute!I loved all of the cat pictures:)
Hi there Karen... I am glad you loved all the cat pics. I loved your halloween sight too. Thanks for coming by. See you around...
love the hats on the cats Great Hub
Oh yEah! ;)

commentonthis7...thanks and hope things with your son are improving. Still thinking of you and your family.
Lots of fun! I loved learning about the cat "stars". I don't think I could ever get my cat into a hat!
Hi Dottie,
Great info on cat stars. I really like Morris.
Barbie
Christoph....Glad that you had time to stop by and have some fun. Just wondering if you tried the earmuff cat hat on and did you like it?....I bet it would be warm when you're out shoveling your driveway this winter. I've got one on order for myself!
Barbie...thanks for the visit...I like Morris too!
They are so, so cute... I have always loved cats, just now I am reading a very silly book called "Cat letters" (the collected cosrrespondence of Cats in Love).
Hi Princessa....I love cats too and that book you are reading sounds like one I would really enjoy too. It's always good to have a silly book on hand. Thanks for sharing that! ~Dottie~
The book is by Leigh W Rutledge and it tells the love stories of six feline couples through the cat's passionate correspondence. A unique book :-)
silly love stories about cats...I like...thanks for coming back with that update. Very much appreciated. :)
Christoph, don't ever put yer cat in a hat. It might turn into a rabbit. You'll lose yer cat forever. That's how magicians do it. :)
Cats are great, they look awesome in these pictures.
cgulls are great too. Thanks for flying through.
Another great hub Dottie. I love cats but sadly, am quite allergic so I can't have them in the house. I have to pet them without holding them and then run in the house to wash my hands. I compensate by making my husband pick them up, hug them and then I pet them while he holds them. I have four cats now (down from 6) and my oldest died last year at age 21! Since we live on a farm they are quite content to stay outside, hunt varmints, and sleep in areas we provide for them. But I sure would love to cuddle them myself.
Hi Susie....so many people I know are allergic to cats. Two of those people live in my house so therefore I don't have cat now but I did grow up with a ton of them that my sister and I used to bring home. I loved all my cats but my absolute favorite came from a friends farm. He was a very rugged indoor/outdoor cat that survived at least 29 lives. No one ever told him he could only have 9! They sure are great to pet and cuddle. Thanks for stopping by. It was very nice to see you!
Hehe...very cute! Always knew cats were smart creatures. And however foolish people might think those hats look, the cats are having the last laugh!
I sure appreciate your feline expertise. Thanks so much for coming by :)
i love my putty cat
Thank you casey for stopping in from sanriotown. Keep right on lovin your putty!
Whatever said and done, cats "is" the "goodlookingest" animal on this planet. Sure you will agree! :)
Aren't cats the the cutest little things you ever saw/seen? If members of my family were not allergic to them, I would have a housefull. quicksand, the kitties who live in this hub and I are glad you came by for a visit.
love my little jelly..she's lovely =)
Here's to the lovely little jelly.=) Thanks Jennie for stopping by.
