Does Free Advertising Have Any Value?

The real question is how to utilize the free classified ads to make a profit without being overloaded with the e-mail confirmations you will receive when you post the free ads. With these confirmations will come advertisements, which is how those organizations still make money providing a site for your free classified ads.

You certainly will want to quickly delete all the many confirmations you will receive. Also, your e-mail will be stripped from your online ads and you will receive junk mail which you may be able to turn into an opportunity. Respond with your own ad and ask them for more information.

I didn't believe there could really be any free ads, and even if they were free, would they actually have any real worthwhile value? When you Google free ads you will be surprised, as I was when I did, at the variety of free advertising available.

You have one line ads, classified ads, ads for cars, business opportunities, jobs, whatever you are selling. There is actually every subject imaginable.

The many sites offering free advertising are making money a variety of ways. Some offer the free ads with a limited exposure or limited features and options. Often these free ads will run for free for 30 days. Then you have to start paying for them.

In other cases paid display advertising is along side your free classified advertising.

The idea is that everyone is doing it for the money. So, free advertising is free long enough or generates enough traffic for you to make some money. Then, when you want to expand the amount of money you want to make by expanding your advertising exposure to generate even more buying traffic, you have to pay for greater exposure.

What could be more perfect that proving without any risk on your part that this particular source of advertising or your particular ad content will actually pull enough traffic to make a profit? A free test before buying. You limit your risk of getting started, so therefore you are eager to try out the advertising source. This is a win-win for you and the site you are advertising on.

Many of these free advertising sites also offer affiliate programs where you get paid for driving traffic to their sites when those free advertisers start buying ads for more exposure and more profitable sales.

Free they are, and certainly they are worth it because trying before buying is always a smart move, a great way to build trust.

3 Strategies For Writing Good Content

Have I mentioned that content is king? If I have, I'm sure it wasn't enough. This is the simplest of rules that you need to understand and follow, as fundamental as it gets. You can have the nicest website on the net, but if you have poor content, your success will be limited. You cannot fool the public, at least not for very long. Truth is, you can have the worst designed website around, but good content will redeem it. Here are 3 quick tips to ensure your content is valuable, relevant and captivating....

1. Customer-focused. It doesn't matter what YOU like, put yourself in the consumers shoes. Think about what you like and don't like to see when you yourself are browsing. Personally, I don't need to see a history of the company on the landing page, I probaby want to see products, prices, testimonials or comments. People browse the internet for a reason, so give it to them straight, or you will lose them. Give your users content THEY will like, not what you THINK they'll like.

2. Benefits vs. Features. Think about whether you'd like to see how a certain product was built versus how exactly this product will make your life better. Comprehension of this will turn your content from blah blah to bling bling. People generally are not interested in teh steps it took to arrive at the product, just tell them how it will improve their lives! Who cares how long the current CFO has been working there, or how long beta-testing took before you scrapped it and went another direction......how is it going to make my life better now! People are not simply buying a tangible product, they are purchasing a lifestyle, prestige, success, a symbol or a way of life. Think of it like this and you are on your way.

3. Call To Action. So you've got your content nailed down, getting some visitors now, your traffic stats are rising....still no profit. Why? After you've 'sold' your product or service to the public, they need to be called to action. After they've read about how it will enrich their lives and they cannot live on without it, they need to make a choice...buy it, yes or no? You need to have clear calls to action throughout your site, once you hook them with your winning content, they have to do something! If you're really ambitious, you'll hook them, then offer them even more information via email or subscription.

Using these 3 simple strategies will ensure you have good content that sells, drives more traffic to your site, and generates more profits for your online business.

Affiliate Marketing Success In 3 Easy Steps

Essentially, affiliate marketing is an agreement between an established online business and you, the affiliate.  Simply put, the online business provides you with a link, which will be unique to you alone, and you go out and promote that link with a website, article, Google Adwords, or however you can most effectively get that link into view of the public.  When someone clicks the link and makes a purchase, you get a share in the profits.  Simple right?  Yes and no.  The fundamentals are simple, but there are few things to consider before you dive into this....

The first thing to consider, is that you have to recognize a specific area or a 'niche market' where there is demand.  It is possible to succeed by promoting a site that is already highly successful, but remember that you are probably not the only one doing this.  Be aware of your competition.  It's easier to focus on something you have passion for, and you can speak intelligently about.  How about something you actually enjoy?  There are lots of resources to find affiliate links, but the two I've had success with are Clickback and Paydotcom.  These are free to join and you'll have access to thousands of products you can promote.

Now, you have decided on a product or service you'd like to promote, great!  The next thing you should look for is the percentage you will be paid upon completion of purchase.  Chances are, no matter what product or service you have chosen, there are more than one if not many.  All the info you need is there before you get your link, so pick the one that pays higher right?  Also consider the support the parent company offers you.  Many will provide you with advertising materials such as banner ads and articles.  Look thoroughly at the company you want to promote, and see if they offer any kind of assistance.  Remember, they really should want to help you, they'll make money off of your efforts after all.

The third step is to develop your site or advertising campaign using proper linking techniques.  This is the most difficult part, and does require some effort and persistence.  You need to develop marketing strategies to promote the product or service.  There are many methods to promote your website, and I have posted articles on all of my blogs speaking directly to this.
