The simplest approach to picking out your men's beach wedding attire is to look at the casual dress is of cultures that are beach-centered. A linen suit is always a good choice if you’re looking for the high end of a casual wedding.  It's a suit, but you won't boil in it. Hawaiian shirts can be found in a variety of styles, one of which is sure to match the tone of your wedding. Cuban and Mexican “dress casual” can also be quite appealing and quite comfortable for the wearer.

I have one word to say to you, "Cotton," "Linen," "Natural Fibers."  Okay, that was more than one word, but I hope you get the point.  It can be a bit tricky to choose men’s attire that will both look good and be practical for the beach wedding location. I’ve seen many a groom sweating through his beautiful wedding attire on a hot day at the beach, so think “breathability” when choosing the outfits for both the groom and the groomsmen.

If you are already planning a beach wedding, then odds are that it was intended to be a more casual affair than a wedding held at a church. You’ve probably planned on a more relaxed affair, but make no mistake, this is still a wedding and you need to be clear with everyone on what to expect.

I’ve been to some beach weddings that seem more like a Fourth Of July barbecue, and other weddings that are basically black tie affairs with everyone wondering why they are tromping through the sand and boiling in the sun instead of being inside. The choice is obviously yours, but aiming for somewhere between the two extremes might be a good goal.

A bit of contrast in the dress of the bride and bridesmaids versus the groom and groomsmen has always been my preference. Hawaiian flowers on both the women and the men seems to take away, rather than add, from the specialness of the attire. Whatever theme you pick, I recommend having complimentary versus identical themes. When I mentioned earlier that the men’s attire should follow the women’s, I did not mean you to directly copy what the women are wearing. As a matter of fact, I strongly recommend that you do not.
