Your Poem
49
I could be swept up and drown in this intensity
But that would belie its antiquity
The truth lies not in the frenzy of the flesh
But in the gentle gaze of your lover’s eyes
I do not wish to be the air you breathe
Instead the smile when you hear a song
Nor the answer to your every wish
But a catalyst to new visions and dreams
I care not to be the stars in your sky
Rather the unfathomable spaces in between
I have no desire to be your world
Only the sweetest moment in your day
And I will not grasp in longing desperation
But hold your love lightly in my hand for another
Lifetime

Thanks for dropping by Brenda.
Wonderful specially the "unfathomable spaces" which I pondered and thought off! I enjoyed the vastness of love in this poem. Hurray RB.
I only wish I could be so deep and mysterious. Thanks for your lovely comment Shamel.
Ahh, what lucky man is this to have receive the admiration and focus of such talent? Well written and profound, I love this.
Thanks Trooper, I'm glad you "love" this. :) I've missed your comments.
love the poem...beautiful thoughts and inspiration to those who know how to love.
Thanks Gwennie. And maybe a heads up to those who need to relax into it?
I like the conciseness with which you split the hairs of love's meaningful significance...
It may be hairs to you, but a world of difference to me. Thank you so much for your comment. I look forward to more of your insights.
Very beautiful, Randy. I especially like the concept of "...holding love lightly..." Thanks for a lovely read.
Thank you so much alekhouse. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Fantastic! My very thoughts on finding the "equal partner". Someone with whom the inspiration and inspiring comes together. Excellent!
Single female seeks inspiring male who seeks to be inspired... I'm sure he's out there Candie.
Thanks Randy! I shall keep the porch light on!!
Randy, your writing is always curious, a lesson of learning and desire. Very well done Randy. (The guy in the pic is hawt)!
Curious, am I? I'd hate to predictable :) Oh and the guy in the pic is the same "hawt" guy in What I Want, Adonis Mine, Real Live Boy, and Spirit of the Man. Needless to say my favorite photographer.
Beautiful and a complete contrast to your name, thank God.
*giggle* Don't like my name huh? Thanks for reading Katy. :)

Now who's the poet.
You have captured the pure essence of love. Never consuming, at times confusing, never completed. Well done!
Ah, thanks. I think you get me Carson.
Which brings to mind...does love not require to be loved back? Ahh love love love... thanks for sharing your lovely sentiments :D
It is not required Cris, just makes for a better love story. :)

It highlights a different aspect of romantic love, and that's what makes it good.

I really enjoy the significantly insignificant role you play in this lucky guy's life. Amazing. Love it Randy B!
