Your Relationship or Your Friendship?

Has there ever been a time when you had to choose between a lover and a friend?

I think I can bring a new meaning to this. I'll tell you a little story...

• Christian - Kristin's Boyfriend
• Jim - Christian's Cousin and Diane's Boyfriend of 3 years
• Diane - Jim's Girlfriend and Kristin's bestfriend
• Braden - Christian's Cousin and Kyra's Boyfriend of 11/2 years
• Kyra - Braden's Girlfriend and Kristin's Bestfriend
• Danny - Braden's Bestfriend
• Lenard - Christian's family friend
• Asia - Kyra's Sister
• T.J. - The problem

Well it starts off with Kristin telling Christian one of her bestfriend Kyra's deepest secrets. Diane and Kyra one day told Kristin that Kyra and T.J. slept together and it was a secret mainly hidden between them and a few others. Well one day Kristin and Christian were having a talk regarding all their friends and his cousins and this secret happend to slip out of Kristin's mouth. A few weeks later Christian opened his mouth to his cousin Jim about Kyra's secret. No longer than 2 minutes after Christian told Jim, Jim told Diane and Diane told Kyra and Kyra asked Kristin if she told Christian about what happend. Kristin owned up and said she did and offered to try and fix the problem. While being screamed at by Kyra through text messages Kristin texts Jim and explains the situation was way before his cousin Braden's time and to leave it alone. Then not too much later Kristin and Kyra start to argue because Kyra is asking Kristin to now lie and Kristin knows it a little too late for that now and Kyra didn't want to take the chance of it getting back to Braden so she threatens Kristin with lies to hurt her relationship as well. Kristin explaining everything to her boyfriend is now at a lost.

Christian knew that Kyra would pull a stunt like that. After the night full of drama a few days later someone threatens Christian's sister to beat her up if she talks to Kristin. Oddly enough that someoone would threaten his sister which isn't even close with Kristin. But now with Chrisitian's sister involved Christian and Braden come to a conclusion that all the cousins need to get together and "talk it out".

Diane took a bold move and got Kristin and Kyra together to talk it out. Kyra and Kristin actually got everything out after hours of talking and yelling and talking some more. They both came to the conclusion that the cousins talking about their issues wasnt going to help any so they made them call off their "talk". During the talk Kristin then found out taht Kyra told lies to cover her story about her affair with T.J., saying that Kristin slept with T.J. twice and that she even slept with a roommate! Even knowning Kyra spread those rumors Kristin let it go because her friendship with her meant so much to her.

Finally everything dies down and everyone can finally just be calm and not worry about drama.

But, then one more night is all it took to make everying blow up again!

This time the cousins are all at a friend's house for Danny's birthday and then next thing you know Christian's calling Kristin and telling her how all his cousins left with a girl. Then Diane starts asking Kristin and Kyra to ask their boyfriends where her boyfriend is and to have him all her and they're both saying that they're not with him. So she starts to piece things together ever so slowly that maybe he boyfriend is out with another girl.

So as a crazy lady we go to the cousins' friend's house and try to get into the gated community so Diane can see if her boyfriend is still there or not and they have no luck getting in. But, then soon after Kyra starts to get curious and she listens to her boyfriend's voicemails and hears a funny message.

Then she realizes its her boyfriend, Danny, Lenard and Jim having sex with a girl!!! She then sends it to Diane and then tells Diane that Jim was with another girl the night of Danny's birthday party, which she heard from her sisters Asia, which heard it from Danny. (Not knowing that her boyfriend was also with this girl that night.) She tell Diane that Kristin told her to cover up for her sister and Danny. So Diane is angry that Kristin never told her anything. Both Kyra and Kristin try to explain to her that butting in with Diane's relationship with Jim can also cause issues for their own relationships. But with Kyra and Braden on the edge already Kyra sees no reason to hold it in anymore.

In the end of this story Kyra ends up with Braden while Diane and Jim break up and Kristin and Christian still together as well. There's more details to this story but nothing that would change any views.

Are relationships worth keeping secrets from friends and telling lies to save their love life? Are friendships worth destorying a growing relationship?

Maybe there's a different outcome with different couples and situations. But, is one more valuable than the other? Honestly there's supposed to be a group of girls that are bestfriends dating a group of cousins. The girl's loyalties are tested more than the cousins' are. Does that show much family conquers over friendship and relationships in the end?

A true friend to me will would tell me anything she/he knew BUT in a situation like the story above a think a true friend would stay out of anyone else's business. If you really look at the story it looks like the girls start all the drama but is it really? The cousins seem to do their fair share of gossiping as well. What's worse about the cousins gossiping is they for one betray their girlfriends by telling the secrets they confide in them and for two they know what the outcome is once secrets are revealed. Neither of them are right they're both wrong.

True friends should keep things to themselves and true relationships should keep things to themselves as well. No one would have to choose in this story if everyone was trustworthy but everyone shows their true colors and that is that no one wants to be the blame.
