Zoo Babies

My name is Samantha, and I have a baby white tiger. Her name is Tasha. I always take her to the zoo. We love it there. Tasha just loves to see all the other animals. And Tasha is so sweet. She is the nicest animal I have ever had.

But one day when we went to the zoo, I took Tasha to the tiger section. She was roaring to the tigers, and they were roaring back to her. Then Tasha had this weird feeling, I could tell. She went ballistic! She started knocking things over, and chasing people. Then she scratched me, really bad. There was a lot of blood coming out. I looked at Tasha and she looked back at me. I think she didn't know what she was doing. So she was about four, or five feet away from me. I thought I would grab her to calm her down a little, but I couldn't reach her. I called her and she started crawling toward me and right when I was about to reach for her a police man grab her. Tasha started screaming. I said "Tasha! Let her go! My baby!" I tried to get up but I couldn't so I grabbed what ever I could. It just so happened to be a ketchup bottle and there was ketchup still in it. I squeezed it as hard as I could and ketchup got it all over the police man. Then a different police man and an ambulance man tried to pick me up. So I picked up the trash can lid next to me and, WHAM! Right into the ambulance man. He dropped me and since I hit something metal it made a loud sound. The police man got frightened so he let go of me to. Plop! I hit the ground. Then they finally got me in to the ambulance. After they got done stitching me up, they nurses would say "how are you Sam?" or "is everything all right?" and every time I would say "Horrible because they took away my baby." or "Why would I be all right if they took away my baby?"

When I left the hospital they gave me crutches. A few days later I went back to the zoo where they took Tasha away. I took a huge poster board with me. The poster board said "Zoo takes babies!" I was telling a whole bunch of people that the zoo took my baby, and the people felt bad so they walked away from the zoo. But then someone that works at the zoo said "Sorry I'm going to have to ask you to leave." While he said that he put his hands on me. I pushed him away and screamed "Get your hands off of me!" This time he grabbed one of me hands and said in an angry tone "Ma'am." I grabbed one of my crutches and hit the zoo man, he dropped me and I fell on my bad leg. It started to hurt really bad, and I tried no t too cry. But the zoo man didn't know I had a broken leg at first so he said "I'm so sorry, let me help you." I yelled at him "Don't touch me! I'll do it my self!" I saw some people looking at me so I said "Hey. Do you people see what they did to me, with a broken leg."

I have always wondered were Tasha is. I miss her so much that I can here her playing with one of her toys right now. Tasha, were are you?

Tasha's point of view

I have a wonderful owner named Samantha. She takes care of me, feeds me, and gives me baths. She also takes me to the zoo to see my brothers, sisters, and parents. But one day when Samantha took me there my brothers and sisters made knew friends. They didn't seem to friendly and they were sort of mean. They were making fun of me because I lived with a human. They said that if I was one of them I should attack her. Then I got really mad so I went out of control. I was chasing people and knocking things down while they other tigers cheered me on. I felt kind of proud of my self because they started to like me. Then I saw Sam. I didn't know what I should do, then I looked at the other tigers and they said "Go get her Tasha! Be like us!" After that I didn't know what I was thinking and I started running toward her and then, I jumped on her and starched her really hard. The other tigers were proud of me, but I really wasn't. Then I saw a lot of red stuff coming out of her leg and realized it was blood. Then I saw her start to cry and the other tigers yelled "Finish her! Come on your not a baby are you?" I got really scared, but then Sam was calling me over to her. I was crawling toward her and the other tigers kept saying no don't do it. Just that very second I was in a cage and in the air. I could here Sam screaming now and something red got on me. It tasted like ketchup. But what did I care, all I wanted to do was sleep.

When I woke up I was in a bigger cage than before. It felt like I was moving and it was really dark and scary in there. When I was looking around, even though I could hardly see, I saw a pair of greenish eye's. I started to screech and whine then a little window opened and a big bald guy with a uni-brow yelled at me and I started to cry. The guy with the uni-brow left a light on in the back of the truck, so I could see well. When I looked around there was a lot of little animals like me. And most of them are crying to. There was a cage sitting next to me and in it was a little leopard and looked about my age. The leopard was a boy whose name is Carter. He was one of the only ones not crying. He told me I shouldn't cry because it won't make things better.

He said, "My name is Carter, what's yours?"

"Tasha," I said in a sad voice. Then I said

"What are you here for?"

"I got taken out of the wild in my perfectly good home for no reason. Why are you here?"

"It's kind of a long story."

"This a long ride."

"O.K."

After a few hours Carter and I fell asleep and the truck stopped. It made a loud noise when the two guys opened the back. I started to freak out when they took me out and left Carter in the truck. I thought that we would be separated. So I started to growl and scream and I starched the guy who had my cage and he dropped me! The door to the cage was on the ground so I couldn't escape. When he picked me back up he slapped me. Carter saw him do that to me and he started to ram into the sides of the cage. The other guy grabbed Carter and shook his cage so hard he had marks all over his body from hitting the cage. After the guy got done shaking Carter's cage he through Carter cage and all.

A while later they put Carter and me and all the other animals in a little cold room. I looked around and then I found Carter and he looked so exhausted it looked like he wasn't even alive. I got scared so I said to Carter, "Carter, are you alright? Carter? Oh know, Carter!" I screamed so loud and I started to cry. Then a guy with a really bad haircut came into the room to see which animal was screaming. I got so mad for what those guys did to Carter I started to ram all my weight into the door of my cage and I broke the door right off. I sprinted toward the man and jumped with all my might. I got out my claws and dug them right down the sides of his and got one of his ears. Then I bit him right in the nose I thought I almost ripped it off. The man had a very pointy object in his hand and he stuck it right in my neck. I couldn't move my body at all, it just froze.

Back to Samantha

Even Though it's only been a few months it feels like a million years with out Tasha. I don't need my crouches any more and the scare isn't that big any more either.

Today I am going to go to the zoo to try to get my baby back. I stood in front of the tigers and none of them looked my Tasha. So I sat down and started to cry really loud. I was trying to make a big scene. A young lady came up to me and said "Are you alright?" then I said "No my babies gone. And this zoo took her away!" The young lady felt bad for me so she grabbed her purse and walked over to one of the zoo keepers and asked in a angry voice "why did you take her baby away?" pointing at me. And when he looked away she started smacking him with her purse. The zoo keeper asked the young lady who was the person whose baby was stolen. The young lady pointed to Sam. And she remembered him from before and he remembered her too. Sam smiled and did a cute little wave. The guy gave Sam an evil eye and walked away.

Sam was thinking that if the zoo wouldn't give Tasha back then she would go get Tasha. She went to the boss of the zoo and asked, "Excuse me. Where do the animals go that you don't keep?"

He said, "They go to a different zoo or sometimes back in the wild."

"Ok. Thanks"

"But, a few months this lady brought her pet tiger here and it went out of control and the animal police had to come and take it. I feel bad for all the animals that get taken."

"Where do they take them?"

"To a building",

"n the first side of the highway."

"Thank you so much."

Then Sam ran as fast as she could out of the zoo and into her car.
