Animal Kingdom Lodge Zebra Dome Fake-Out Recipe
64
Everyone LOVES the Zebra Dome desserts served at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World.
Luscious little domes of mocha-chocolate mousse covered in white chocolate ganache and piped with milk chocolate ganache stripes.
I...er, uh, people have been known to eat as many as a half dozen in one sitting. Who wouldn't want to try their hand at taking the magic home, recreating these little darlings in their own kitchens? Problem is they are a Hell's Kitchen nightmare to make. Amateur chefs would only attempt to whip up a chocolate mousse at their own risk. White AND dark chocolate ganache translates to a recipe for disaster. And just where does one get mini domed shaped molds?
That is why I created this recipe I call the Animal Kingdom Lodge Zebra Dome Fake-Out Recipe. It has all the creaminess and decadent flavor of the original but takes hours less time in the kitchen. Try this out and leave the real Zebra Domes to the professionals.

Directions
In large mixing bowl add milk, Kahlua, espresso and chocolate pudding mix. With an electric mixer, mix ingredients on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Place one shortcake shell on the bottom of each cocktail glass (sprinkle with a little Kahlua if desired).
In separate bowl, beat heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
Alternately layer pudding and whip cream in the glass creating "zebra stripes".
Chill in refrigerator at least one hour.
This recipe serves four.
