Why do people write hubs on the internet? Why does anyone participate in blogging? Society is transforming with regards to communication and humans are adapting. We socialize through blogs about every subject imaginable. What is a blog? Literally, it is a shorter way of saying web log, but a log implies something static whereas blogs are interactive. Blogs have become an exchange of dialogue. Internet communication can be a form of catharsis; one can complain about a subject where no other forum will suffice. (definitely less expensive than a therapist) Hubbing has become a method of conversing about subjects that people share an interest in. Everyone has interests, but proximity sometimes prevents us from sharing those interests. Hubbing allows us to connect with a new method, thus providing socialization through the internet. Why meet at a coffee shop to converse when you can sit with a coffee next to you and a laptop in front. Cafés were one of the earliest establishments to implement wireless internet to allow people to converse when their acquaintances were absent. Humans can keep in touch from almost anywhere in the world.
Do we clear our minds and escape from the world around us when entering cyber-space?
"True words are not necessarily beautiful.
Beautiful words are not necessarily truthful.
One who is achieved does not argue and one who argues is not achieved
One who knows vast amounts of truth does not need segmented information.
One who knows vast amounts of information, may not know truth."
Laozi

A photographer can shoot pictures in the darkness or take photos in the sunlight. Bloggers can rant and rave or use the internet to provide and gain knowledge. I would like to think that people enjoy blogging, hence the large number contributing and viewing. Although many participate, they do so for various reasons. I have difficulty fully understanding why I am hubbing, let alone speculate why others do so. Perhaps everyone can share their thoughts in the comments section below.
