Zrii Controversy Teaches all Network Marketers a Lesson

Zrii Scandal Affects Everyone
Zrii's future is uncertain, which is a little surprising after the auspicious beginning it had in the industry. Zrii is a nutritional beverage featuring the amalaki berry, and had a major endorsement from Deepak Chopra. In its first year, it beat the pace MonaVie set for sales, and that is currently a billion dollar company.
In the first week of February, 2009 the top 7 distributors sent a letter to Zrii CEO Bill Farley, demanding his resignation. They accused him of unscrupulous activity which included embezzlement and shorting distributors on their promised commissions. Farley countered that the allegations are false, and that these distributors fabricated them in order to stage a hostile takeover of the company.
It's not yet clear who is telling the truth, and who is lying in this case, but that really doesn't matter. The reality is likely that this kind of top-level infighting will cause irreparable harm to the company, and the people who will suffer most are the distributors at the lower levels who are trying to make a steady income with this company.
The Zrii scandal holds valuable lessons for anyone involved in network marketing. If you think your company is immune to this, then you are kidding yourself. To truly work for yourself, become your own boss and insulate yourself from a potential catastrophe should this kind of thing happen to a company you are with, you need to learn the necessary skills to develop "You, Inc."
Learn how to develop multiple streams of income and establish yourself as a leader in the industry. Stop relying on your company to deliver your retirement income to you. There is nothing wrong with backing a company and product you believe in, but when you learn the skills to build your own wealth, you minimize the kind of vulnerability we see happening to Zrii distributors now.

You're so right Lane. I think that's on the back of everybodys mind. Making a name for yourself and getting people to know how you work is a must for any marketer these days. Building me Inc. helps me sleep at night.
