OLD, NEW, BORROWED, BLUE WEDDING!
61Tradition Meets Non-Traditional
Here are some FUN ideas to use for your wedding and bridal shower! Have you always wanted to keep tradition but also do something that is not so traditional?! Stuck in the middle and don't know what to do? Well I have come up with two themes for you. I know us girls love the show/ movie "SEX & THE CITY", ever wonder how you can do something to incorporate that with the something blue tradition, well I have done just that. How about "LOVE & THE CITY"! I choose baby blue and black as the colors. The baby blue is your something borrowed and something blue, and your theme is the something NEW! Your favorite cocktails, unique party bridesmaid dresses that I would recommend to search at Nordstrom store and a wonderful style couture dress just for you will get you started. Have black street lights and benches as small decor items that you can find on my website along with breathtaking topiary photo/ card holders that can resemble central park! This theme just gets me so excited. It is very easy to do. You can use one as place card holders and the other as photo holders around your cocktail hour tables, food, candy, dessert stands, etc. I would even think of doing stands that are similar to those hot dog stands in the city but instead do a candy bar stand, chocolates, desserts- Oh what fun! Have a DJ or Band play the Sex & the City theme music as you and your bridal party walk in. Don't forget some Frank Sinatra with "New York, New York".
The Next theme is a winter wonderland theme, don't we love white snow or what! Well check out the unique ways you can make a winter wonderland magical. Snowflake items are a must and blue lighting will really make it feel like a wonderland! Have white christmas lights nicely decorated around trees if outside and or poles inside. Have white lilly's or any other white flowers as your centerpiece. I also recommend white flower sticks with crystal jewels! It will look so pretty. Food you can have winter food such as different soups, salads, meat loaf, hot choco just to name a few. I also think ice sculptures would fit the look. Fun desserts can be ice cones, ice cream, ambrosia (marshmellows with fruit), cheesecakes, pastries and the list can go on. You can even incorporate some of these kinds of food with the Love & the City theme!
