I always enjoyed traveling and exploring what is outside the United States. I wanted to come up with a unique concept that may not necessarily be done in the United States for a wedding as most weddings have simple colors and themes done. If you are looking to go out the norm and be different with your wedding I have a concept below for you. I want to call this European Elegance. If you like certain fine wines and extraordinary cuisines you should have your reception feel like you are in that country you like or if you wanted to have a destination wedding but due to cost can't, then design the reception to look like the place you would of liked to gone too. There are always ways to get what you want and still save costs. I have the color tones in red, purple, black, silver and I would also throw in ivory to soften it a bit. Instead of a full open bar with many liquors at the reception, just have a selection of international wines and beers. For music, I would still get non-traditional and go with the country music so you really get the feel for the culture. Do your research in advance and speak with bands in your area. I think a live band would be best with this theme. Of all the places I have been to so far, each had live bands and we just loved it! You can still do the traditional dances like first dance as husband and wife, mother and son, father and daughter but for the full reception stay cultural. I am sure you have favorite foods from the country you know off hand but if you want to explore more, you can check out restaurants in town that may have the same style food as well as free recipes you can find looking online through google search, from appetizers to desserts. You will find everything you need!
