Congrats on your lil addition on the way!

I am going to show you some simple suggestions to plan your very own elegant baby shower at your own home. We recently had a baby shower this past weekend and I wanted to share with you how it went. First since during the summer it is always hard to judge with the weather we automatically decided to rent a tent along with round tables and white folding chairs. The company came and set up the tent and we had to wash down the chairs with some Windex which was fine. We had purchased pink table linen as well to cover the wood tables. Ordered flower arrangements for each table, rented china, silverware, glasses, coffee mugs with the rental place to ensure we had enough for everyone. We placed the flower arrangement, china and thank you favors on the tables. The party was around 35 to 40 people to accommodate. In each corner of the tent and in the middle of the tent we also included bunches of balloons we purchased in pearlized white and pink as it is a baby girl on the way!. During the day sure as anything we did have a few down pours but since we were under the tent no one got wet. It was great! Plus the rain helped break up the humidity.

In addition to getting rentals we decided to go with a catering place for the food. The place we found has great Italian food and they provided us with a server. The server was a nice lady. She ended up walking around with finger foods and lit the sterno's as we had decided to set up the food buffet style. She called us all in the house when it was ready as we had set up an area inside due to the rain. We had Pasta with Vodka Sauce, Cavatelli and Broccoli, Lemon Chicken, Flank Steak rolled with Spinach, Eggplant ,Veggies, Salad, and Bread rolls. Very delicious and fulling!

Also under the tent we also kept a separate table for the guests to place their gifts.and on the side of the tent we had a patio table with umbrella. On that table we kept a cooler with ice filled with soda's and bottled water. In a separate decorative bucket we filled ice with bottles of wine. and placed wine glasses on the table. Everyone was able to help themselves. After we ate, we started to set up the gift opening area. We only played one game which was Bingo. We gave everyone seven chances to win a small prize. It ended up going fast but it was still fine. We were able to go through the gifts quickly. Next the mom to be thanked everyone for attending and we all went inside to see the cake and get coffee. The event started at 1 and ended around 5:30. Overall it was a wonderful day and everyone enjoyed themselves. Please check out some of the photos to help inspire you for your special day! Also note, to cut expenses you can always cook in advance and gather tables and chairs from your friends and relatives.

If you need any suggestions, please feel free to drop me an email as always!

Best Wishes!
