Pretty, Hot And Limited

Microsoft is the color conscious culprit who secretly slipped 100 limited edition hot pink Zunes into the retail (not black or even blue) market not too long ago. There is no implication intended here about the pink Zunes being hot as in stolen; only sexy like in “hot pink”. Microsoft first released Zunes last year and they had a great idea. These versatile digital audio players, which can play music files, display videos and images and even receive FM radio, are very cool.

There’s only one problem with this secret sexy pink Zune and that is the fact that one can order what is thought to be a black, brown or white Zune and find oneself stuck with a limited edition of pink. Consider a guy walking down the street trying to make an impression carrying a portable pink Zune. Pink is just fine for pajamas, some kitchens, many ladies, girl babies, teenage girls and others who might wish to be included among those just mentioned. It is not, however, a color for the on-the-go guy, hot to make an impression on anyone except maybe a bisexual interior decorator (who may be ambivalent about pink anyway).

The pink Zunes are coming out in full force on May the first, whether you are ready for them or not. They are now expected to be released mainstream. (No more limited edition. It’s pink all the way now!) People paid a great deal for these pink Zunes when they were featured on e-bay and no doubt Microsoft was influenced by that fact.

It’s just too bad that the pink factor can’t be utilized in a more charitable way. Breast cancer ribbons are pink and what better tribute could any company or person for that matter pay to the feminine spirit than contributing to a cause such as that?

Besides, let’s not be sexist. Pink just isn’t for everyone and no one should be left out of the Zune boom.

So get one of these pink Zunes anyway. If you are a guy, you’ll figure it out!
