If you are looking for a quick weight loss diet then I have some radical advice for you: Stop eating.  Yes, that is not common advice in today's world, and especially here in the eastern world people frown heavily on this advice.  We are always pushing food here in the U.S. and we say that we have to eat in order to be healthy.  But here is a radical idea that will lose you weight, and fast too:  stop eating food for 3 to 5 days straight, and just drink juice.  No pulp allowed.  No food allowed.  That's it.


Juice fasting for weight loss

It's called a juice fast, and it can teach you a whole lot about how to eat healthy.  How so?  Because not only will you drop about 5 to 10 pounds in only a few days, you will also gain a new appreciation for food.  In fact, you will be able to thoroughly enjoy a light salad and a simple piece of fruit when you are finished fasting. 

Now if you go right back to your old eating habits after a juice fast, it is true that you will gain all of the weight back.  But as I said above, fasting is about changing your attitude toward food.  It represents a shift towards healthier eating in the long run.  If you make fasting a habit then eventually you can change your eating and eventually your overall health. 

Following up your juice fast with a decent quick weight loss diet plan is obviously going to be very important in order to keep the weight off.  You will want to eat mostly salad, fruits and veggies for a few days following the fast.  After that you will want to stick to lean meats and protein without going back to extremely fatty foods. 

People think they will die if they stop eating.  This is not a concern on a juice fast because you are still getting plenty of nutrients from the juice.  Doing a water fast is a completely different story and you would have to be much more careful in doing a water fast. But on a juice fast you can even exercise vigorously and this is a huge key to your fast weight loss.  When I do a juice fast I maintain my regular exercise schedule which includes running 6 miles every other day.  On a 4 day juice fast this can really accelerate your results and speed up your metabolism even more.

How juice fasting can help you lose weight fast

When you stop eating food your metabolism shuts down and slows to a crawl because you are no longer feeding your stomach.  But if you do vigorous exercise, or even just walk about 5 miles, you will rev up your metabolism and really speed up your weight loss.  If you juice fast and exercise every day you will lose weight extremely fast.  There really is no quicker way to drop weight in a safe manner. 

Most people believe that if they attempted a juice fast that they would be miserable.  This must be tested before you make this assumption because in most cases you will actually feel better than ever.  People believe that they will be extremely hungry but actually the hunger goes away on about the second day of the fast.  This is because the stomach and the digestive system turns itself off when it realizes that you are not giving it any food.  When this happens, not only will your hunger go away completely, but you will also get a ton of energy that you did not have before.  This is because we normally use about 40 percent of all of our energy just to digest solid food.  That energy will be freed up during a juice fast and can be used by your body instead to heal itself.  This is why animals naturally fast when they are ill--because it is a shortcut to healing.  Fasting conserves energy and rebuilds your health.  The fact that it also drops weight very quickly is icing on the cake!

Now if you are bold enough to try a 3 day juice fast and it goes well, you might venture into longer fasts in the future and use it as a way to lose even more weight.  People have done successful juice fasts that last for several months, even going over 100 days without solid food.  This sounds like deprivation but these are very alive, energetic, and healthy people. 

If you want to lose weight then get radical and stop eating.  It is so much easier than you ever thought possible.
