Cure for Acne
Although not everyone is blessed with a smooth, free complexion, join the thousands of men and women out there who learned to control and prevent acne. There are only a few people out there who do not have this problem we call acne. In one way or another, majority of the population will actually get them at some point of their lives. Many who have this condition have probably set out to understand its cause. In fact, it is well known that this is mostly caused by clogging of skin pores with dead skin cells and oil which are infected by bacterial causing them to develop from mild to severe acne.
Stages of Acne
Treatment of this skin problem will depend on whether what you have is the mild, moderate or severe form of acne. It is safe to categorize blackheads, whiteheads and pimples as mild acne. These conditions are easily controlled with cleansing using a mild soap or application of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid or combination. For moderate to severe acne where you see clumps of pimples on your skin, it is best to consult with a doctor who specializes on skin treatment. These conditions will usually require stronger chemical combinations or even surgical treatment.
Some people may have the tendency to squeeze on these skin problems in the hope of hastening its disappearance. But as what you may have realized soon after, they leave one with scars instead. In this case, there are several surgical procedures that may help improve or remove these scars.
Time and Expense
The more severe one's acne, the higher the chances that treatment may take longer and consequently, mean more expense on your pocket. In most instances, treatment lasts between 6-8 weeks for one to see the desired results. In fact, some individuals may even see their acne condition go worse than normal but one would be cautioned about this early on so they don't abruptly discontinue with the treatment plan.
In some cases, one medicine may not be the cure all you could get for acne. As mentioned earlier, even mild acne would require a combination of treatment for it to start working. Medications are suited too according to one's skin type such as normal, dry and oily skins. Unless you too are a health professional, better get in touch with one soon for proper treatment to get the quickest route to a healthy skin.

Determining your skin type
I know that you’re eager to just run out and buy whatever acne products look good in desperation, but don’t do so just yet. First you’d better identify your skin type so that you’ll be able to choose products which were specifically designed to be suitable for you. It might not seem like such a big deal but this is acne we’re talking about. Suppose that you have dry skin or combination skin and you go out and purchase a product for oily skin. Well, you’re going to find out real quick what a mistake that was! That oily skin product is going to dry out your skin further, worsening the condition of your acne and making your face feel tight and uncomfortable.
So how do you determine what skin type you have? Let’s focus on the face for now because you can actually have different types of skin in different areas of your body, which may require more than one product if you’re looking to kill face acne as well as back acne.

Skin Types
There are 5 separate skin types. See which one best describes you! Take a clean tissue or piece of toilet paper and wipe your face with it in the morning.
Normal - This skin type isn't oily so you won't see any on the paper, but is supple, firm, and elastic. It generally looks very healthy, clean, smooth, and has excellent circulation and an appealing complexion. People with this skin type run into a lot less problems than others.
Dry - No oil on the paper, but after having wiped it your skin will feel reptilian - dry, flaky, and tight. Dry skin is prone to developing a sallow tone, unsightly wrinkles, and fine pores. Your skin will become irritated and age very easily. If you have this type of skin, be sure to use moisturizers daily to protect the balance of your skin, and occasionally indulge yourself with a natural face mask.
Oily - Oil from various places will show up on the paper, especially from your nose, forehead, chin, and cheeks. This type of skin always looks oily, thick, coarse, and shiny, and suffers from acne outbreaks because of enlarged pores. Thankfully, wrinkles and aging isn't a problem for people with oily skin. Keeping your skin clean, cutting back on foods high in carbohydrates, and using light creams (only if necessary) will help your skin look healthier.
Combination - This means that your face will be dry in some areas but oily in others. The paper should show oil spots only in the area of the nose and forehead. Most women have this type of skin and have a bit of trouble matching products to their skin because the cheeks area may be dry while the nose is oily so you will need to buy products that cater to combination skin or use two separate products on those different areas. Make sure that you use a moisturizer on the dry areas but thoroughly and regularly clean the oily ones. Keeping a packet of oil blotting papers on hand is especially helpful throughout the day.
Sensitive - You won't find much oil, if any, on the paper, but your skin will feel dry and tight. This skin type becomes inflamed and irritated easily, displaying red and scaly patches that get itchy easily. You'll need to go with very gentle products, maybe natural ones would suit you best, to ensure that you don't aggravate your skin's condition.
Overall, if you choose products that are suitable for your skin type, you'll have a much better chance at eliminating your acne once and for all while keeping your skin looking young and healthy!
