Acne skin care
71Oily skin
Determining whether or not you have oily skin does not require rocket science. A large chunk of the population has some form of oily skin and many cosmetics products continue to profit off of this fact. Taking care of your oily or acne prone skin is something that you must get into the habit of doing if you hope to get rid of it or get it under control.
While there are many cleansers, astringents, miracle face washes, and so forth that claim to improve the condition of your acne, what you use and how you use it will greatly affect what happens to your acne next.

Treating acne skin
Since acne skin is different than normal clear skin, it should be cared for in a specific manner. For starters, you should wash your face in the morning, evening, and after exercising or sweating. This will eliminate the lingering oils on the surface of your skin and prevent them from sneaking below it. Use only oil free products when it comes to makeup and moisturizers.
If your skin has already broken out in acne, don't use exfoliants or scratch your skin with rough scrubbing brushes or sponges. By doing this, you might make the acne worse and it could even result in scars. Whatever your bad habits may be, try your best to keep your hands away from your face. Touching your face too often or with hands that have come into contact with bacteria will make your acne much worse. If you practice good hygiene and properly care for your acne skin, you'll be able to prevent it from worsening and allow it to run its course naturally.

Beautiful - in side and out
Health experts are forever telling us that ‘you are what you eat' and proof of that is evident in our eating habits being reflected on the outer appearance of our body. If we eat too much junk food or fatty foods, we gain weight. If we don't eat the required amount and right combination of fruits and vegetables, the results turn up in the appearance of our dull skin or lackluster hair. Ever wonder why your nails are brittle? Well, your diet may have more to do with it than you think. The same holds true for acne. If the inside of your body is swimming with toxins and unbalanced, lacking the proper vitamins and minerals, both the inner and outer components of your body will function improperly. One of the unfortunate outcomes of an unbalanced, unhealthy body is acne.
Keeping your body looking its best takes some dedication and time but it isn't necessarily a difficult thing to do. So long as you keep your digestion-absorption-elimination cycle running smoothly you should be able to prevent most of the acne triggers from within your body.

Diet is the key
Adding a few ingredients (or removing a few, depending on what you might be lacking or don't need in your diet) to your daily meals could make a big improvement to your overall health. Citrus fruits have always been known to have a positive effect on acne (no matter how small) when applied to the skin directly as an astringent. However, did you know that these fruits work just as well - perhaps even better - if taken internally? Squeezing yourself a glass of lemon juice in the morning could do wonders for you internally and externally since lemons are anti-bacterial. Fresh lemon juice will help flush toxins from your system and reduce the oil production of sebum by your sebaceous glands.
Improving your diet doesn't have to be a distasteful task if you add some herbal teas to a meal or two throughout your busy day. Herbal teas aid in keeping your blood free clean and free your system of toxins. Some of the herbal teas that you can easily enjoy include: mint, cumin, fresh ginger root, rosehips, cinnamon, turmeric, marshmallow root, and many more! These are not only good for you but they are also good for relieving stress - proven in many clinical studies - which is a known factor in acne outbreaks.
Try to add a side combination of vegetables to your meals, giving them a nutritional boost of vitamins and minerals. Don't overwhelm your dinner plate with a huge slab of beef. Instead, make sure that it is evenly balanced out with a healthy helping of asparagus, daikon radish, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli, cabbage, and any other vegetable that you feel brave enough to welcome to your meal. You can chop some of these vegetables up and eat them raw, or steam them to bring out their natural flavors. If you still aren't feeling so welcome to the taste of these vegetables, it wouldn't hurt to liven them up a bit with a light salad dressing.
For many health-related reasons, including acne, you would be best to avoid foods containing trans-fats and other unhealthy oils. These will clog your pores and lead to the overproduction of sebum, which will result in more acne outbreaks and unattractive looking skin. So, before you order those large French fries it might be helpful to consider how they might affect your unwanted acne, on top of what they will do to your waistline.

Those vegetables are definitely important in keeping your skin healthy from the inside out!
Good tips. But I noticed that good advice is not always taken right. Take teenagers and people with active nightlives, for example. They'll try anything except modify their lifestyle, dietary, sleep schedule, and workout routines. Good luck if they even remember to stick to facial routines. Do you have skin care hubs aimed at people like that? Just a thought.

Great tips! I didn't know that exfoliating made it worse so I guess that I'd better quit using that stuff
