Is hubbing an addiction?

Too new to know

I am too new to hubpages to really know, but my answer is yes. I published my first hub and keep checking the statistics to see if my number goes up. I may have a slightly addictive personality. About 13 months ago I got kind of addicted to mylot. I have been addicted to yahoogroups for years. So why not hubpages?

In reality, I doubt that hubbing has a universal appeal. My husband probably wouldn't be interested unless he could make a living doing it. (Don't worry, he's not going to quit his job) I am job hunting but haven't found a job yet, so this is something for me to do. It's harmless isn't it?

It is fun, and the only drawback might be from sitting too long. While I haven't been a member a day, I've done a few searches and read some thought provoking or amusing hubs. I've already seen a few people who seem to have a grasp on how this works. I'm going to try to learn a few things and I hope to be around for quite a while.

The Number Thing

Then there is that whole number thing. I like watching numbers. I have no idea why. After publishing this one, I checked my stats and found that my second hub is making my average go down. Well I never thought about that. I was caught up in the zest of writing a new hub.

I wonder why people like me like numbers? It probably has something to do with approval. I guess that is why there are so many polls and such. I think we as Americans are too dependent, but I definitely think we're addicted.

Thanx yarntales for replying my request. As you grow older to hubpages you will learn the game. In fact, hubpages are searched by googles and its better to have affiliation with google. viewership to hubpages includes international viewers. Within 3 months my pages were viewed by 4000 viewers. Of this about 2000 viewers are from outside hubpages.

hmmmm I think I am a potential "hubaholic". Just joined today and find it fascinating and fun. At the moment I am too busy reading hubs to organize writing one, but it is nice to contemplate an addiction that could potentially fatten my bank account instead of emptying it

I feel like my head is going to explode, and not in a good way! lol thank you for posting this, 100% yes is the answer. I too, happen to have an addictive personality, that could be the common factor.

I think in a shel silverstein kind of way, my eyes are becoming glued to the screen and cable wires are growing out of my ears...... wish me luck

Sharing info

I think another part of hubbing is sharing information and experiences we have. It is a nice feeling to know that someone is reading what we write. It's nice to think that someone else is benefitting from our successes or failures. Perhaps we can help someone avoid a pitfall that we sunk into, or share something that we did excellant.
