Affiliate Marketing is a great way to make money online and you don't even need a website to start. But I am often asked 'how do you make money from affiliate marketing?

So I decided to put together my top internet marketing tips that will have you earning affiliate commissions in no time (or your money back! LOL).

Wait, don't skip ahead, before I tell you my 3 methods I should explain what an affiliate is and what affiliate marketing is all about.

What is an affiliate and what is affiliate marketing?

In the general sense, an affiliate is someone who tells other people about a website. As a thank you for sending prospects and/or customers to their website the affiliate program owner will reward the referrer (the affiliate) with a commission (also known as a payment).

The best products to start with are usually digital products (products that can be downloaded as soon as the payment has been processed). The reason I believe these to be the best products to get started with is because they convert well and you can earn anywhere from 25% to 75% commissions for each sale.

I use two places to get my referral links and these are Clickbank and PayDotCom.

Both of these places track your commissions so all you have to do is choose a product and start promoting. Clickbank pay you by check and PayDotCom will pay you directly into your PayPal account.

Right, here are my three top ways of earning money online through the promotion of affiliate products.

1. Write an article. A good article is informative (much like this one) and not too long; 400-500 words being the recommend maximum. If your article gets to 600 words or more break it into two articles. The top site for posting your articles is E-Zine Articles. Type "article directory" in Google to find even more.

2. Become a forum member. Posting regularly in forums can have lots of links pointing to your affiliate program. Simply add your affiliate URL into the signature box (nearly all forums have these) and write something compelling for your visitor to click on. This is an example of a good signature box:

Always make sure you are providing valuable content and be an active and valued member of the forum's community.

My favourite forum is Conquer Your Niche for the simple fact that each time you make a post you earn advertising credits. You can use these credits to advertise on the site itself. Again, for more dedicated forums type "(your niche) forum" in Google.

3. This one is more to do with mindset and learning. Look at the people in the field of your choice, lets say affilate marketing, and align yourself with them. Look at how they promote themselves and affiliate products and copy what you like (adapted to your particular style). My online marketing heroes are many but two have really struck a chord with me; these are Mike Filsaime and Russell Brunson.
