Get Your Airborne Refund
74Airborne Refund
If you bought Airborne to fight off a cold recently, as millions of Americans might have, you could be owed some money and lots of it!
The makers of the herbal product have agreed to refund more than $23 million.
The settlement comes after a class-action lawsuit was filed over false advertising.
The popular formula originally claimed it could fend off the common cold.
But the lawsuit claims the company that makes Airborne had no research to support that claim.
A recorded message at the company says it admits no wrongdoing or illegal conduct.
Here's a question for my readers,
Will you be requesting an Airborne refund?
*please leave your responses in the comments.
To get your refund for your purchase of Airborne call 1-888-952-9080 for further information.
Anyone whom purchase Airborne between 2001 and 2007 should submit their claim by September 15, 2008.

yes. how do we get the refund? i certainly do not keep my receipts or empty boxes.
I have been taking airbourne for the past couple years and i have always wondered if it really worked or not. Now i know. I do not like being taken advantage of so i would like to request a refund how do i go about doing that?
The obvious thing everyone wants to know, but can't find, is HOW
I just recently bought this product.
This isn't the first time that I have bought this product.
I DID GET TO THINKING THAT MAYBE THIS AIRBOURNE WAS FIGHTING THE COLD BUT WAS NOT CONVINCED BY TAKING IT FEEL THAT SOMEHOW I WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BY BUYING THIS PRODUCT.
No refund for me-- I have taken Airbourne and haven't gotten colds for two winters,so I got my money's worth I think. Did Airbourne help?I dunno, but it is just a blend of vitamins and minerals I read the ingredients beforeI bought it, so I knew it was mostly vitamin C. I'm sure it hasn't hurt me--maybe thinking I wouldn't get a cold kept me from getting one:-)
In any case they have no research showing that Airbourne hurts you and no--I don't feel taken advantage of. I prefer vitamins and minerals to pharmaceuticals any day...Good hub BTW!
Yes i do
My husband and I were one of those who swore by Airborne. We took one tablet every day so we would not get a cold, and was still taking it, until it hit the news.
Hello, I have taken this product for a few years now! How do you apply for a refund, I didnt keep receipts or the empty bottles, Now what?????
I do want a refund. I may have my last two boxes. How does one get the refund?
Hi guy/gals,
I surprise by the amount of comments I'm getting and most of the comments are asking, "how and who do we contact to get my airborne refund", I searched around and edit this hub with the information.
hope it helps!
Yes I plan on getting a refund- this never helped on any flights I took- I still caught dry mouth and colds after cross-country flights.
NO REFUND FOR ME-I'VE BEEN TAKING AIRBORNE FOR TWO YEARS AND I HAVN'T HAD A COLD. I WORK IN A GROUPE HOME AND THEY ALWAYS HAVE COLDS. I KNEW WHAT WAS IN IT BEFORE I PURCHASED. IT HAS SAVE ME A LOT OF MONEY . I FIND NO FAULT WITH IT.
I believed in Airborn, I even recommended the product to all my coworkers and family! I hope this is not a set up from huge pharmaceutical companies to try to get our of the market a product that eventhoug is not a medicine, they might be jealous for all the profits the teacher made. Even big chain Rx companies had their own brand, Why?, b/c they also want the profit, !!!!
I TELL EVERYONE i KNOW ABOUT AIRBOURNE. LOOK AT WINN-DIXIE, WAL-GREENE AND ALL THESE STORES THAT ARE COPING IT. THEY KNOW IT WORKS TOO. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR. iT IS A GOOD PRODUCT AND IT SAVE YOU FROM MISSING WORK BY NOT CATCHING A COLD AND GETTING SICK. THANK GOD WE HAVE SOMETHING THATS WORKS. GO AIRBOURNE.
No refund for me all the ingredients in airborn are good for you and are known to increase the strength of the immune system, reduce the severity and duration of a cold, and I’m not just talking what airborn claims.
By the looks of some of the refund responses on here airborn may be the only vitamins some people get.
Lawsuits are won all the time against people and companies who were not in the wrong. My bet is this is a disguised attack by big pharma against naturopathic products. You guys better start fighting for the good stuff or you will only be left with the bad stuff.
No refund for me, I bought airborne for the first time just two weeks ago. I am in law school and airborne helped me get over my cold fast enough that I didn't miss any school. It isn't a magical cure people it strengthens you immune system thats it- and it did just that for me.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I WORK WITH PRESCHOOL CHILDREN AND AIRBORNE HAS KEPT ME FROM GETTING A COLD MANY TIMES. I KNEW WHAT WAS IN IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I ALSO GIVE IT TO MY 8YR OLD SON AND HE HAS NOT BEEN SICK THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. PLEASE DON'T GET RID OF THIS PRODUCT. IT REALLY WORKS. THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES ARE PROBABLY LOSING MONEY BECAUSE POEPLE ARE STAYING HEALTHY WITH AIRBORNE AND THEY WANT IT OFF THE MARKET.
I'm going for the refund. I bought it for my mother. She has gotten cold, even though she takes it daily. I have never taken it, and I have not had a cold in over 5 years.
No refund for me. I have taken Airborn at the first sign anyone around me is sick and I have never gotten sick. My girlfriend and I have lived together for 2 years and I have seen her go through 5 colds that I have avoided by taking Airborn when she even mentions feeling tired or scratchy throat. Don't just buy into the lawsuit for $63 dollars if this has worked for you.
yes I would like a refund but I think the stuff works but does not cure you
No, there should be a little bit of common sense used when taking any supplement. It's just vitamins and such which may or may not boost your immune system and help keep away a cold. Use some common sense!! I took Airborne for the first time when flying last year (as well as a couple other supplements) and for the first time didn't get sick after a flight. Maybe it was the Airborne, maybe not, but I'm not going to ask for a refund because it MIGHT NOT have worked. Get real.
poeple need to quit tryng to get rich at some one except
Now every person who wants something for nothing is going to come out of the woodwork. Wait for it...it will come in the news. every greedy person who never bought the product will try to bilk free money from a company trying to do some good. so much for encouraging entraprenurialism.
Here is where you can find the official information regarding the Airborn settlement:
Interesting lawsuit, I find. As a nurse, I can say that I never heard that Airborne was a curative method for the cold. I believe it states that it may be the "cure AGAINST the common cold", not "FOR the common cold". It is a prophylactic measure. This means, you need to take it before you get sick, and avoid contact with those who have it.
Forgot to add that the company requires receipts from past purchases dating back to the fall of 2001. One question I have is why not go against the many diet pills which promise more than they can deliver?
Prior to my using Airborne I got colds at least five times a year, I have used Airborne since 2002 and never get colds. As soon as I feel the symptoms I take Airborne and I never get a full blown cold. I will not be asking for a refund. I also give this product to my children, and they are rarley ever sick.
Airborne rocks!!!
I started using Airborne two years ago and refused to fly unles i gaged it down. I even sent it to my sister who lives in New York hopping to keep her from having a cold. How do I get a refund? I even have a box unopened.
Of Course, I want a refund. This is false advertising. Where do I submit my claims.
I've been using Airborne for a few years and I think it works for me! The lack of scientific studies to support the fact that it works doesn't bother me. It just works and that's all that matters.
I swear by this product! I wouldn't request a refund from a company that has a product I like. If you don't like it, don't use it!
I have 2 bottles in my desk and I will continue to use it. I work in a hospital and was constantly getting colds but since I've taken Airborne, I'm cold-free. A few of the doctors are taking it too. I wouldn't be surprised if the big pharmaceutical companies are behind this lawsuit.
Hey, great hub MITB- looks like you get a lot of responses out of it!
I have never been a fan of airborne simply because it's only glorified vitamins and minerals. Can they help your body fight things off? Sure, but it's not the same as an antibiotic or antihistamine, etc.
They are really just placebos, and nothing more.
I absolutely love Airborne and I think that this lawsuit is just another example of how litigious our society is. Pharmeceutical companies must be so happy about this! Whether it is the combination of herbs used in the product or whether it is a placebo effect--either way the stuff just works! It makes me sad to know that so many people will be jumping on board to get their little bit of money and might just take down a product that is so wonderful.
People have to use some common sense here. When I take Airborne, I know that it may not prevent all colds and flus.....it is an immune booster only. But I will say that everytime my kids come home with the flu or even just a cold, I start taking Airborne. The number of colds/flu that I get are significantly lower and I attribute it to Airborne.
I want no refund as Airborne really works if one takes it right at the very first signs of a cold coming on. If taken after the cold has set in, then doesn't help much but I've had no cold for years and I thank Airborne for it. I'm thinking lots of people don't take it right at first OR they are greedy to break a good company.
Lois Barger of Sutherlin, Or.
Well first they are not asking for reciepts for all the years stated, if you have them than you will get all your money back , if you don't have reciepts than you will get up to $75. This is the info I heard on Good Morning America! The product works if you ask me they are not saying its dangerous, its the quotes that is on the boxes! please its just as bad as our 2008 election with who says what, and what is misleading. these days the whole world is misleading so think about that when you vote this year who is a real person that will take care of us all. Exsperence is what it comes down to for everything in life. I have exsperenced good things from airborne and I want our world leader to have the same. Vote Hilary....take airborne.
Lets be real we all got taken... i am gonna need a refund here.
I gave this medecine to my children (8 and 6) and they always claimed that it doesn't help them but I still insisted that they took it when I know they were coming down with a cold or flu. Of course, they still got sick but I though maybe I didn't gave the medicine early enough. My kids were right, this medicine doesn't work! i want my refund.
Airborne is allowed to not work, as its not a drug regulated by the FDA. However, they aren't allowed to make false claims (as is the case w/any company). That's where they ran afoul of the law.
yes, I always got sick anyway and I was very frustrated that it wasn't working like people swore it was.
I have taken ut and it is what I Swear by. Nothing cures a cold but time, medicines only help to ease the symptoms. Air bourne just helps you naturally with out all of the side effects that you normally get. I just hope that they don't take it off the market. Why didn't anyone file suit against Walmart or the other companies who have their own version of it.
I was very disappointed in this product. I was very expensive and didn't work.......
i am a pharmacist and have always told people it is just as effective to take a vitamin and maybe a bit of extra vitamin c to prevent getting sick - which is essentially what airborne is. those of you who bought the product should have read the label to see what was in it - vitamins and minerals. that's no miracle product it's just plain old good marketing on their part. as for people trying to get their money back - i personally have never bought it b/c i take a multivatimin but seriously it's like what... 8 bucks? c'mon!
What they are saying is that it has to much vitamin A in it. I fyou take more then 3 a day you can overdose on Vitamin A.
