Energy is in everything.

Most of the energy production and usage in the world today are from non-renewable sources like fossil fuel, coal. The oil production in the world is huge and so is the demand for it.

The main reason why we are still using outdated ways to create and consume energy is because the worlds infrastructure is build (deliberately) this way. Oil is used not only to fuel your car, but also to make plastics, to lit barbecues, to make auto parts and and so forth. SO the industry itself is very widely integrated in the worlds economy and also not to leave out it is a very PROFITABLE industry for the few and expensive for the many!

There are many alternative ways to create energy but most are costly and not for a single family's home. Some affordable energy sources today are wind and solar energy.
